Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra has hinted at imminent political changes in the state, citing possible resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah post-Dasara festival amid the MUDA scam investigation.
NEW DELHI: Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Thursday hinted at fast-paced political developments in the state, including a potential change of Chief Minister in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) 'scam'.
Speaking to the media, Vijayendra said, "In the coming days, fast-paced political developments will unfold, which both the media and the people of the state will witness."
When asked about his earlier comments suggesting that chief minister Siddaramaiah may step down after the Dasara festival, Vijayendra reiterated that the state is set to witness major changes.

"I had said that fast-paced political developments would take place, and this includes everything," he stated.
Last Sunday, Vijayendra had claimed that, according to his sources, Siddaramaiah, who is facing a probe in the MUDA site allotment case, could resign after the festival. Speculation about a leadership change gained momentum after some ministers from the Siddaramaiah Cabinet recently held closed-door meetings.
Addressing the issue of internal opposition within the BJP, Vijayendra acknowledged that some senior party leaders have expressed dissatisfaction with his leadership. However, he dismissed the opposition as anti-party activities, stating that the leadership has entrusted him with the responsibility of leading the party in Karnataka. "Seniors need time to understand me. I am committed to taking everyone along, and things will improve in the days to come," he added.

A faction of BJP leaders, led by senior legislators Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and Ramesh Jarkiholi, has openly criticized Vijayendra, accusing him of engaging in "adjustment politics" with the ruling Congress and trying to consolidate power with the help of his father, veteran leader B S Yediyurappa.
