NAGPUR: Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) MLAs, including Sanjay Gaikwad and Ramesh Bornare, staged a protest at the Vidhan Sabha, holding placards in support of Union Minister Amit Shah. The protest came in response to Congress's manipulation of Shah's statement on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which they claimed was taken out of context. The Shiv Sena leaders asserted that Shah’s statement was made in good faith and not intended to disrespect Ambedkar.
Speaking to the media, Gaikwad said, "Shah’s words were in good sense, but Congress leaders are playing theatrics. Chandra and Surya will remain; the Constitution’s name will endure. Congress is trying to misguide the people." He further added that Congress had historically attempted to undermine Ambedkar, recalling that the party had caused his defeat in two Lok Sabha elections. "Congress never wanted Ambedkar to win," Gaikwad said, quoting Ambedkar's warning to Congress about it being a "burning house."
However, when questioned by the media about the live broadcast of Shah's statement on Lok Sabha TV, the Shiv Sena leaders did not provide a response. Instead, they abruptly left the podium midway, ignoring further queries from the press.
The protest highlighted the Shiv Sena's support for Shah's remarks and their criticism of Congress for ignoring Ambedkar's legacy while attempting to distort Shah's words.
