PATNA/DARJEELING: The viral video of two Bihar job aspirants being assaulted by local residents of West Bengal has kicked off a furore among the netas, while the police swung into action and detained a person.

Giriraj Singh shared the video on social media on Thursday, showing Bihar students being assaulted in West Bengal. The students, including Ankit Yadav from Danapur, were in Siliguri for a physical test of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam.
The assailants questioned their presence in West Bengal, sought their documents, and bullied them at Ranidanga in Siliguri for not being the residents of West Bengal and taking the examination. One attacker, identified as Rajat Bhattacharya, was detained and interrogated at the anti-crime wing of Siliguri police on Thursday.
Bhattacharya is an activist of Bangla Pokkho, a pro-Bengali advocacy organization. Bhattacharya, too, has posted the video on his social media page.
