Sanjeeda Shaikh on finding love again after divorce from Aamir Ali: ‘The idea is to find a partner who can calm your soul’

Over three years after her divorce from Aamir Ali, actor Sanjeeda Shaikh remains open to the idea of love and believes in its beauty. In an interview with News18, she spoke candidly about her idea of romance, personal growth, and how life’s challenges have shaped her.
“I personally believe that it’s not difficult to find love even today,” Sanjeeda said. “I think love is a beautiful feeling. The idea is to find a partner who can calm your soul. You should be able to find solace in him. It’s beautiful to feel that and have that in your life. I hope everyone gets to experience it."
The actor also reflected on the complexities of modern relationships, pointing out that infidelity existed long before dating apps became common. Despite experiencing her own share of hardships, Sanjeeda chooses to focus on resilience and positivity.
“Good phases teach you to be in the moment, but bad phases teach you to bounce back harder,” she said, adding that she harbors no bitterness toward life.

“Sabki zindagi mein kuch na kuch hota hai (Everyone has something going on in their life),” Sanjeeda remarked. “I don’t like people who sit and keep cribbing about their life. I think we’re fortunate to even be living in this world. It’s a blessing. I’m very happy with the choices and the decisions that I’ve made for myself because they’ve defined me. I don’t want people to do it for me because I’ve given a definition to myself, and I’m really proud of it."

Sanjeeda married Aamir Ali in 2012 after years of dating. Their relationship reportedly hit a rough patch in 2020, leading to rumors of separation. It was also revealed that the couple had a four-month-old child through surrogacy. In 2021, the pair finalized their divorce after nine years of marriage.
