Unni Mukundan’s action flick ‘Marco’ maintains a strong lead at the box office with around Rs 27 crore collection from India in just 7 days.
According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Marco’ has minted Rs 27.55 crores from India in just 7 days and the movie had collected around Rs 2.50 crores on day 7 as per the early estimates by the website.
If the pace keeps up, then the movie will be opening next targets of Rs 50 crores and Rs 60 crores shortly.
‘Marco’ opened with Rs 4.3 crore in Indian collections and maintained an approximate amount of Rs 4 crore in the following days.
Regarding the occupancy rates, ‘Marco’ had an overall 47.36 percent Malayalam occupancy on day 7, Thursday with morning shows at 29.94 percent, afternoon shows at 47.62 percent, evening shows at 49.03 percent, and night shows at 62.84 percent.
Marco’ was promised to be the most-violent movie ever made in India and the makers have indeed done justice to what they promised. Even though the first half of the movie offers you some usual thrills and some violent sequences, the game changes to pro mode in the second half. Overall ‘Marco’ is surely a benchmark movie in India in terms of violence, maybe even better than ‘Animal’ or even ‘Kill’.
Directed by Haneef Adeni, ‘Marco’ stars Unni Mukundan, Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, and others in lead roles and the film is a spin-off to the Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Mikhael’.
On the other hand, Mohanlal’s directorial debut film ‘Barroz’ is getting mixed reviews from the audiences.
