Carmelo Anthony, the former NBA power forward, and his ex-wife La La Anthony, a TV personality and actress, share a son - Kiyan Anthony, who is currently on his way to follow in his father's footsteps. LaLa has always been very vocal about the love she has for her son, and has called him her best friend multiple times over the years. The 17-year-old guard has been by her side through some tough times, and LaLa does not hesitate to shower her love for him either.

Recently, LaLa shared an Instagram story with her son, where she can be seen pouting and holding up a peace sign with her fingers. Kiyan might seem a little camera shy, trying to fix his glasses, while his mother clicks the photo. In the photo, LaLa bestowed upon her son yet another title, calling him her “Favorite person” and pointing an arrow at Kiyan.

The mother-son duo looked to be chilling, as they posed for the selfie. This story came only an hour after the Power star shared a video alongside her friends and family, as they rang in the New Year in style. She wrote:
"Brought in 2025 surrounded by love.”
She also added: “HAPPY NEW YEAR!! thank you GOD for everything!!!! ” Looks like their New Year's party was fun and then some.

Kiyan Anthony follows in Carmelo Anthony’s footsteps to Syracuse

The 17-year-old son of Caramel and LaLa Anthony was recently named one of the top-ranked prospects for the class of 2025 from New York. For his collegiate basketball career, Kiyan had multiple options at hand, but chose to follow in his father - Carmelo Anthony’s footsteps. The “banana boat crew” member announced in his 7PM in Brooklyn podcast that his son would be joining the Syracuse Orange.

In a video shared by Kiyan and WME sports, the proud father shared in the moment, saying: “As a father, this is a special moment. You’ve got a chance to put the school, the community and New York back where it’s supposed to be.” LaLa Anthony too chimed in with her thoughts, saying: “Melo and I couldn’t be more proud of our son. This is such an amazing, major moment for him.”

Kiyan Anthony also shared his feelings about joining a team that is so close to his father and their family, saying:
“I appreciate everybody for coming out. Everybody in this room had a major impact on my life. It was hard to make a decision. With all that being said, Syracuse University!”
