Having a treaty based on waste is not an option for us... It must be based on plastic prevention and reduction... It must be based on science... #INC #Busan #Plastic_treaty

Results from our pilot project: reducing single-use plastics at La Badira 🏨 Our recent efforts at La Badira to phase out single-use plastics shows that significant changes in back-office practices are possible ! Five types of single-use plastic items were targeted: food preservation single-use containers, coffee capsules, plastic wrap, pasta packaging, and storage bags for bulk-purchased traditional products. 💰 Economic benefits : The project's impact included a detailed economic assessment to showcase the potential financial gains of each solution tested. 👉 1-Year projection : After just three months of testing, annual savings could reach 6,789 Tunisian dinars with only a small initial investment. A huge thanks to the entire hotel team for their commitment to driving change ! This initiative not only drives environmental change but also delivers tangible economic benefits, highlighting the value of sustainable practices in the hospitality sector. #Sustainability #PlasticFree #Sustainabletourism #Hospitality #Tunisia ------------------- Many thanks to the team project : RE-SWEEP Wassim CHAABANE kaouther ghozzi Afef Ammar Belaid Basma Ben Alaya Cyrine Messaoud

Posidonia is a type of seagrass found in the Mediterranean Sea. When it washes up on beaches, it can sometimes be seen as a form of pollution by tourists or visitors because of the large, dark mats it forms along the shoreline. !!!! Be sure, it's not pollution. In fact, it plays an essential ecological role. However, plastic and solid waste presence on beaches must be considered as a pollution. A series of measures should be implemented to STOP it... #RESWEEP #plastic #pollution #solid_waste #posidonia

🌍 Textile Waste: A Global Challenge In both developed and developing countries, textile waste is becoming an increasingly urgent issue. 🌱 It’s essential that we develop effective mechanisms to promote sustainable management of textile waste, embracing a circular economy model. One potential solution is the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme. By holding producers accountable for the entire lifecycle of their products, EPR can drive more sustainable practices in both production and disposal. ♻️ The question of responsiblities related to second hand textiles that ends up in the landfills of importing countries should be discussed. Importing countries may need to consider this aspect in the future EPR scheme for textiles. #TextileWaste #CircularEconomy #EPR #Sustainability #SecondHandClothing #GlobalWasteManagement #TextileRecycling

Marine pollution is caused by all the substances discharged into seas and oceans due to human activities. It reaches marine environments through rivers, winds, the air, or through direct discharges into the sea. Today, we are all impacted and concerned...therefore, we must take action and implement concrete, sustainable measures tailored to local contexts... RE-SWEEP is working on several strategic and projects to prevent and reduce marine pollution from waste, particularly plastic waste in the Mediterranean...
