Building a Country of Leaders

نبذة عنا

(French version below) Across 2015 and 2016, a group of twenty Tunisians met in Tunisia and abroad to discuss the best way to contribute in helping the nation via a strong organization. They decided that the answer is TTU. The founders agreed to focus their effort on one goal: Coaching brilliant young Tunisians and helping them to become future great leaders, and bringing together the best Tunisian talents in the world to be actively engaged in this goal. In practice, this goal is achieved via a tailored model that helps TTU members improve their soft skills and technical know-how. TTU is committed to fundamental values of integrity, excellence and citizenship. Our vision is inspiring and collectively working for a change that will contribute to a better future for Tunisia. We start from an observation and a truth: Tunisian Talents are competitive on a global scale, they are in demand in the largest companies and institutions, and they leave a positive impact wherever they happen to be. That is the foundation of TTU.

  • Zeineb Ben Yahmed speaking at Tunisian Talents United side event at COP29 Azerbaijan about Managing Currency Risk to Catalyze Climate Finance in Emergent Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs) Emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs) face a daunting challenge in securing sufficient climate finance to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Local capital markets in many EMDEs lack depth to meet climate-related needs. The gap will have to be met by international climate finance from public and private sources. Estimates for climate investment needs in EMDEs vary from USD 1 trillion to USD 2 trillion annually by 2030. However, currency risk remains a key barrier to deploying international capital to climate projects in EMDEs. This paper explores risks arising from the mismatch between debt denominated in “hard” currencies (e.g., US dollars or euros) and the revenues used to repay the debt denominated in local currencies—as is frequently the case for climate-related projects. https://lnkd.in/emnn-SYS

  • Houda BEN JANNET ALLAL speaking at Tunisian Talents United side event at COP29 Azerbaijan about Pathways to a Net Zero Energy future for the Mediterranean region The Mediterranean region is grappling with multiple crises, where energy security concerns often compete with the urgent need for climate action. Recent global developments, such as the COPs, highlight the necessity of addressing the climate crisis with accelerated ambition. As one of the most vulnerable areas to climate impacts, the Mediterranean is witnessing firsthand the strain of these dual priorities. At the same time political tensions and conflicts continue to disrupt energy supplies, complicating the path toward energy resilience and transition. In this complex landscape, balancing immediate energy demands with sustainable development goals is an ongoing challenge. The energy transition in the Mediterranean must accommodate both regional needs and global climate targets, requiring innovative solutions and steadfast cooperation among all stakeholders.  The presentation will give an overview of the key findings from the Mediterranean Energy Perspectives 2025 Scenarios as well as the possible contribution of renewable energy, green hydrogen and cross-border trade in leveraging the Mediterranean region’s potential in competitively delivering clean energy and in decarbonizing the region and beyond. https://lnkd.in/eW8aJaBq
