DoubleU Games Co., Ltd. has entered into an agreement to acquire Turkish gaming studio Paxie Games. DoubleU Games will acquire a 60% stake for $27.0 million at closing. The remaining 40% will be acquired over three years, subject to achieving certain financial targets, resulting in full ownership by the end of the third year. Jay Choi, Chief Financial Officer of DoubleU Games, said: “We believe the acquisition of Paxie Games represents a significant move to secure an expanded portfolio of new mobile gaming titles, driving growth and unlocking new opportunities.” Direnç Çelik, CEO of Paxie Games said: “We are thrilled about the incredible opportunities ahead for our company. Merge Studio, our rapidly scaling hit game, is only the beginning. Interview with SocialPeta Ltd's Senior Director of Marketing, Crystal Bai We had a chance to speak with Crystal and explore SocialPeta’s plans and goals for Türkiye, the differences between Southeast Asia and the Turkish market, and her insights on the Turkish gaming industry.  "The Turkish gaming market has seen rapid growth in mobile game consumption, but IAA models are still more common in terms of monetization, particularly for localized products. Due to the nature of the game types, it can be challenging to adopt monetization methods like esports or IAP, which limits the diversity of revenue streams to some extent. Ray Browser, the world’s first browser created specifically for high-end, web-based gaming, announced the close of their most recent funding round, securing additional funding from Play Ventures Samsung Next, Spatial Capital, FOV Ventures, and A16Z GAMES SPEEDRUN participating in the round. Jaakko Manninen, CEO of Ray Browser said: “This current round of funding opens the doors for Ray Browser to continue development, expand the team with key hires, and secure partnerships with new developers and gaming studios. Moon Beast Productions, an independent game studio founded by industry veterans Phil Shenk, Peter Hu, and Erich Schaefer, has secured $4.5 million in seed funding. Led by 1AM Gaming, the round is joined by 1Up Ventures, the mini fund, Overwolf, Versus Ventures, and a network of notable angel investors. Istanbul-based mobile gaming studio Agave Games has raised $18 million in a Series A round led by Felix Capital and Balderton Capital, with participation from e2vc, and Tripledot Studios' co-founder Akin Babayigit. This latest investment brings the company’s total funding to $25 million. Founded in 2021 by Alper Oner, Ali Baran Terzioglu, Burak Kar, and Oğuzhan Merdivenli, Agave Games plans to use the investment to grow its team, further scale Find the Cat and develop new games. Agave Games' hit game Find the Cat is one of the fastest-growing games in 2024 that has topped app store charts across the US, Japan, and multiple European countries. The casual puzzle game surpassed 10 million downloads in its first quarter alone.
