On behalf of the UK Government, the British Office Taipei, Department for Business and Trade, and UK Space Agency are showcasing 7 exciting British businesses from across the space sector and the UK’s largest regional space cluster: BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, Eutelsat OneWeb, LENA Space Limited, MDA Space, Oxford Instruments plc, Space South Central, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL), Type One Ventures. This is the first ever UK Pavilion exhibiting at Taiwan Space Agency－TASA TASTI Expo, demonstrating the UK’s thriving space ecosystem – a network of investors, scientists, engineers, academia and research labs. This delegation includes representation from UK space sector companies specialising in early-stage investment, satellite system and manufacturing, launch services, satellite services, and satellite operation. The delegation is keen to explore opportunities to build connections with the Taiwan space sector. By harnessing the complementary strengths of the UK and Taiwan, we can better compete globally and drive economic growth in both markets. As a UK owned Space prime, we deliver space missions and data solutions for government customers. We are currently building BAE Systems Azalea(TM), a low Earth orbit cluster-based constellation that will use multiple sensors to monitor the Earth’s surface, analyse data, and deliver the resulting intelligence anywhere in the world. Each satellite cluster flies in formation, delivering precision geo-location through inter-satellite links and onboard processing. In 2024 TASA signed an MoU for Faraday Dragon, the world’s first UK led multi-agency Asia-Pacific satellite rideshare mission. TASA is committed to supplying indigenously developed components for inclusion on Faraday Dragon, contributing to the deepening of international and regional co-operation in the field of space exploration. The founders originally met as R&D Propulsion Engineers at BloodhoundSSC, a 1,000mph rocket powered landspeed record attempt, and have subsequently been employed with SSTL working on LEO and GEO satellite propulsion systems, in both cases covering all aspects of propulsion work through design, development, manufacture, test, integration and exploitation.
