Why we’re rolling out mobile testing units in #Tanzania.. 80% of the 25 million outpatients visiting health facilities annually in Tanzania require medical testing during their initial visit. For chronic patients or patients undergoing long-term treatment regular checkup often constitutes a number of medical tests to assess treatment effectiveness, medication response and disease progression. In a regular hospital setting the service ratio of physician appointment to medical testing is 1:3, meaning that each patient will require at-least 3 tests per visit. With teleconsultation, providers still require procedural medical investigation to assert condition diagnosis in-order to make an informed decision. Last year our partner test facilities provided twice the number of medical tests, and while they enhance intervention and cutdown critical turnaround time significantly, patients still undergo tedious processes, long wait times and extra costs related to multiple visits to the facilities. Here’s why LyfPlus is adopting mobile testing and rolling out test unit vehicles; 1. The need for a comprehensive tele-diagnosis solution - Mobile testing units perform essential tests like urinalysis, GFR, cholesterol, ECG, etc. These tests done remotely, complement teleconsultation, meaning our chronic patients can receive comprehensive care where they are without multiple visits. 2. A new service offering - Expanding our service offering not only creates opportunities for new revenue streams for us and our partner health facilities but also enhance our capability to deliver timely care for better outcomes and patient satisfaction. 3. Customer intimacy - We obsess over creating a deep trust with our customers, this personalized approach will enhance stronger relationship and loyalty. 4. Integrated care - This will contribute to our broader approach to expand our network of partner health facilities across multiple locations. Partner health facilities will have the ability to reach more patients beyond their facility’s premises thereby coordinate health services in a unique network for better experiences and outcomes. 5. Enhanced accessibility - Limited accessibility to healthcare among certain patient groups can be a result of mobility issues, medical conditions or remote residency, for instance elderly patients and rural populations. Mobile units can reach remote and underserved areas, but also patients with mobility difficulties. 6. Convenience, affordability and timely care. Mobile test units bring the convenience of on-site testing, reduce the costs with traveling to distant facilities, and ensure timely interventions. Our goal is to integrate mobile test units into our broader healthcare network, first starting with our partner health facilities. Today we we shine the light on @lyfplusinc, who has recently forged a significant partnership by signing a #healthcare facilitation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with R&D Healthcare Group, a prominent healthcare provider operating five polyclinics and hospitals across Tanzania. This collaboration marks a significant milestone, as it will bring aboard 204 specialist doctors, enabling us to offer 600 new appointments monthly, thereby extending our reach to more patients nationwide.
