During the #WAAW2024, IPSF African Regional Office (IPSF AfRO) organized the African Youth AMR Forum 2.0. On Day 2 of the forum, RBA Initiative was honored to highlight the link between AMR and NCDs. Today we reflect on the compelling presentation by Roll Back Antimicrobial resistance Initiative (RBA Initiative)’s Michael Mosha that explored the critical connection between Non-Communicable Diseases (#NCDs) and Antimicrobial Resistance (#AMR), emphasizing how NCDs increase vulnerability to infections requiring antibiotics, often leading to misuse and resistance. These insights underscored the need for integrated approaches in addressing NCDs and AMR, particularly in resource-limited settings, where prevention and education play vital roles. Let’s continue to educate, advocate, and act for a healthier future!
