The Energy Efficiency Project, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), hosted an awareness session on Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS). MEPS will ensure that only energy-efficient products—like air conditioners, TVs, fans, fridges, and electric motors—enter the Tanzanian market, reducing energy consumption, driving sustainability, and supporting national energy efficiency goals. Eng. Innocent Luoga, Commissioner for Electricity and Renewable Energy, highlighted MEPS' role in helping businesses: ✔️ Embrace sustainable practices. ✔️ Comply with new regulations. ✔️ Tap into the energy-efficient market. Awareness sessions like these are key to fostering a culture of energy efficiency and building a sustainable future for Tanzania. #EnergyEfficiency #SustainableEnergy #CleanEnergy #GreenFuture #TanzaniaEnergy

We were honoured to welcome the UNDP Senior Management Team led by Muyeye Chambwera - Deputy Resident Representative and Godfrey Nyamrunda - Deputy Head of Zanzibar Sub Office to the ZRCP office. During their visit, they held a bilateral meeting with the ZRCP management team and discussed the emerging opportunities and challenges for UNDP Tanzania to leverage and contribute to in the future. Diverse issues were deliberated on topics pertaining to the digital and economic transformation, boosting the growth of SMEs, formalisation of the informal sector, digital economy, public sector competence, labour skills, and capital markets development. ZRCP is super glad with the opportunity to be among 3-5 strategic partners that provide insights to the UNDP Tanzania for shaping the new strategic plan and determine its focus areas.
