In May 2023 we had over 2,300 mining community members receive capacity-building training. Women and youth from Chunya, Winza, Lindi, Kahama, and Shinyanga showcased their mineral produce and gained market exposure. We also had Financial literacy training by CRDB Bank Plc, an artisanal mining services overview by STAMICO Tanzania, and a session on the importance of geological data by the Geological Survey of Tanzania. The Deputy Minister of Mines, Dr. Steven Kiruswa attended and endorsed the program. It's one of the impactful moments that we reflect at the end of the year as say we're grateful for the partners, government, and everyone who made it possible. #twimmi #WomeninMining #WomeninMineralValueAddition

Time to Reflect and Celebrate. As we count down to 2025, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the milestones we’ve achieved together this year. Aligning with President Samia Suluhu’s vision for clean energy and environmental protection. In March, we had a Clean Energy Initiative. We empowered 150 women miners with gas cylinders, paving the way for a shift from charcoal to clean cooking energy. We took a stand to embrace a greener and more sustainable future. As we look forward, we’re doubling down our commitment to empowering women in mining. PS: What was your proudest moment this year? Share it with us in the comments.

Our visit to Mtakanini mines - Winza, Dodoma came with an adventure. Our vehicle got stuck in the mud by accident. The team and women miners worked together singing 🎶“Kina mama wote tusonge mbele”🎶 while pushing our way through. A muddy moment busted into a musical memory of collaboration and resilience. Teamwork made the dream work, even in the mud! 😄 #twimmi #WomeninMining #WomeninMineralValueAddition

Tanzania Women in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI) is here to provide recommendations, connections, and real encouragement for Africa’s rising talents. If you believe in lifting others and advancing the mining sector across the continent, this is your tribe. We have been doing that through mentorship workshops and training. Our latest one-of-a-kind training - PAMOJA INITIATIVE brought together 40 women and youth from different African countries including Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, and Kenya. Participants were trained in a powerful range of skills, from Gemstone identification and value addition to Business etiquette. We always come together as a collective group walking the talk with the good intention of empowering our continent in the mining sector. PS: Repost this to join the movement in changing lives. #twimmi #WomeninMining #WomeninMineralValueAddition
