Receive a grant of up to $60,000 from the KSE Foundation for initiatives that prepare students for science Olympics! 🔬 DA VINCI UKRAINE is a grant program of the KSE Foundation and Purposeful Ventures. It aims to support organizations that prepare talented Ukrainian students for participation in national and international Olympics in the exact sciences such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, etc. The program will provide grants to projects and initiatives that: ▪️ develop the Olympic movement in the exact sciences among young people, ▪️ stimulate children's interest in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and other exact sciences, ▪️ prepare students to participate in national and international Olympics. 🖇️ Who can apply? Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public initiatives that work with young people under 18. 🗓️ Duration of the project for which support is requested: 6-24 months. Anna Orekhova, co-founder of INSCIENCE, took part in the discussion on efforts to combat science denial, propaganda, and disinformation in their country in the current “Post-Truth” era. The Aspen Institute Science & Society Program organized the panel discussion in cooperation with the Aspen Institute Kyiv. Anna described the organization’s work in promoting science communication and evidence-based medicine. From stories about the Women in science project to the Science Kids program, which introduces children to scientific role models, INSCIENCE engages various social groups in scientific thinking. It also organizes popular science lectures for Ukrainian children in Warsaw and Prague and provides materials and practical advice from more than 50 evidence-based experts on the Take Care of Yourself platform. Co-founder of INSCIENCE underscored the importance of critical thinking and the development of scientific methodology in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction. 📌 The event was dedicated to the release of the Ukrainian version of the documentary series INFODEMIC: Global Conversations on Science and Disinformation. INSCIENCE with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) held an inspirational meeting, “Education for the Future: How to Train the Next Generation of Professionals.” The panel discussion “Shaping the Future: education, technology, and innovation for youth empowerment” was joined by Barbara Oakley, a professor of engineering and author of one of the most popular courses, “Learning How To Learn,” and books on effective learning; Anna Novosad, co-founder of SavED; Anna Orekhova, co-founder of INSCIENCE; and Polina Limina, team leader of Science Kids. They discussed the future of education and its impact on the labor market in Ukraine, how to create new development opportunities, how to effectively train a new generation of professionals, and how education is changing our society. At the event, we also spoke with participants of the BE/БУДЬ mentoring program about career changes and transformations after the program. Mentees Mariia Pelypenko, Polina Kiyashko and mentor Oleksandra Petrunok, Director of PR at Genesis, spoke about the program's impact on their lives and current needs and aspirations. The program involved 707 participants, over 60 of whom secured employment within 1.5 months of completion, and more than 100 participants are continuing specialized IT training. Specialists from 180 Ukrainian and global companies joined the program as mentors. We would like to thank all the participants and guests who were able to join us. We were delighted to see old INSCIENCE friends and meet new ones. See you at future events.
