The 74th Unbreakable Mom Rehabilitation Camp Closed as the Last of 2024 On St. Nicholas Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 74th shift of the Unbreakable Mom project by the Masha Fund came to a close. The closing ceremony was emotional, brimming with gratitude from the participants. The event began with a minute of silence to honour the fallen defenders who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine's independence, followed by expressions of gratitude to our defenders who are tirelessly fighting for our territorial integrity. Children and teenagers performed songs, while women made musical and humorous sketches about life on the project. The ceremony featured a visit from Mariia Yefrosinina, co-founder of the Masha Fund, which served as a delightful surprise for the participants. During the 74th session of the Unbreakable Mom project, 29 people participated, comprising 15 women and 14 children. Among them: · 9 families have lost close relatives due to the war, with 4 of those families being internally displaced persons (IDPs). · 6 families have relatives who are either in russian captivity or have gone missing, with 2 of those families also being IDPs. Participants hailed from various regions, primarily from the eastern and northern areas close to the frontline, including Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast, Chernihiv, Sumy and Sumy Oblast, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Poltava Oblast. For these weeks, eleven specialists worked closely with the women and children. This marks the final shift of 2024. However, thousands of women and their children in Ukraine still require professional psychological rehabilitation and support. We hope that in the coming year, the Masha Fund will be able to continue to provide comprehensive psychological support to Ukrainian women, including organizing the Unbreakable Mom retreats for those experiencing profound psycho-emotional distress. The Unbreakable Mom rehabilitation program is specially designed by experts in psychology and post-traumatic disorders for women and their children affected by the war. This three-week offline camp involves psychologists, art therapists, and body psychologists working collaboratively with participants. The 74th session of the Unbreakable Mom project was made possible through the financial support of the UNIQA Insurance Group. We encourage you to support us on our website, https://lnkd.in/eFi6d7qw

The Road of Kindness has raised 4 052 370 UAH (about 92 940 EUR) to support children affected by the war. The funds will be used to purchase critically needed medical equipment for hospitals that treat children with injuries sustained as a result of Russian attacks. In September 2024, WOG gas stations launched another Road of Kindness campaign in collaboration with their charitable partner, the Masha Fund, and Ambassador Masha Efrosinina. The goal is to raise funds for the purchase of medical equipment for hospitals where children suffering from the effects of war are treated. A signature feature of the Roads of Kindness campaign is the purple cup adorned with a unicorn, which symbolizes the launch of the project each year at gas stations. By enjoying their favourite coffee or fragrant tea from this cup, WOG customers contribute to the vital mission of saving children's lives. With an initial goal of raising 3.6 million UAH for the purchase of hospital equipment, the results exceeded expectations, ultimately raising over 4 million hryvnias. All funds collected will be directed to the Masha Fund to purchase an artificial lung ventilation device for the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital and an ultrasound diagnostic device for the Kherson Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. Additionally, medical equipment will be acquired for the surgical department of the First Medical Association of Lviv. Doctors at these institutions perform surgeries almost daily on children injured during hostilities. Any additional funds raised through the project will also be utilized to assist children in need. “According to official data from juvenile prosecutors, over 2,000 children have been affected by Russian aggression since the beginning of the full-scale war. The highest numbers of injuries, varying in severity, have been reported in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kherson, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions,” states Masha Efrosinina, co-founder of the Masha Fund, co-organizer, and Ambassador of the Road of Kindness project. “Helping to save their lives is one of society's greatest missions as we strive for a hopeful future. I hope that the future feels as close to you as it does to me. All of Ukraine is currently under shelling, making it impossible to predict the next insidious actions of the enemy. Therefore, every hospital in the country is working to save children with shrapnel and mine-explosive injuries. This is my sixth year participating as a co-organizer and ambassador, and I am proud that saving children's lives has become our shared goal!” Over the years of the Road of Kindness project, millions of Ukrainians have come together to ensure that children receive the necessary medical care. Thanks to their contributions, equipment has been purchased for nearly 40 children's hospitals with various specialties. Specifically, during the full-scale war, support was provided to enhance surgical facilities in eight hospitals treating children following injuries.

The Unbreakable Mom project has launched its 74th shift This week, we proudly launched the 74th shift of the Unbreakable Mom project, welcoming 15 women and their 14 children. This shift specifically supports families of the deceased and missing-in-action family members. Participants represent such frontline nearby regions as Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro. Psychologists have observed feelings of alienation, confusion, apathy, and rejection among the participants in the early days of the project. “The women and children arrived with clear signs of PTSD, noticeable physical tension, distrust, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future. Some have thoughts of death and suicide. The children show high levels of avoidance, mild to moderate depression, and elevated anxiety. All participants report sleep disturbances,' says Valentyna Bilmach, project manager of the Unbreakable Mom. The Unbreakable Mom is a program to stabilize the emotional state of women and children affected by war, specially developed by professionals in the field of psychotherapy and post-traumatic syndromes. The program restores the women's faith in the future and shows they are not alone in their grief. From the beginning of the project in 2022 till now, 73 shifts have been held with 524 participants. The 74th shift is being held with the financial support of our partner, UNIQA Insurance Group. The half-year-long project of the Masha Fund, which focuses on training facilitators for support groups, is coming to an end. This initiative is implemented with the support of the USAID project Strengthening Public Trust (UCBI), and we can already say that no one expected such remarkable results! Graduates of the program have not only established support groups in towns and villages within the frontline regions but have also become leaders of change in their communities. The weeks of challenging selection from hundreds of applications, online lectures and seminars, a five-day training session in the Carpathians, and three months during which these future "leaders of change" acquired the skills necessary to lead support groups have all contributed to this success. Out of 300 women who participated in various projects of the Masha Fund, 30 received scholarships to conduct support groups in their communities. For the past three months, they have been successfully gathering individuals with similar experiences to support one another and learn how to cope with the stress and psychological challenges of war. #LeadersOfChange #MashaFund #UkrainianNGO #StrongWomen #WomenEmpowerment #WomenInLeadership #PeerSupport #CommunityBuilding #SupportGroups #WomenInCommunity

For nine months, Masha Foundation trainers travelled to communities in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv regions to educate locals about stress management. An impressive 12,000 people participated in the basic training! If each individual shares this knowledge with their family and colleagues, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men and women will gain psychological resilience skills. As we encounter stress daily amidst a full-scale war, the influx of external stimuli targeting our nervous system only intensifies. Sirens blaring, shelling, disrupted sleep patterns, an uncertain future – all contribute to the need for understanding how our psyche functions and how to aid its recovery from stress. In response to this necessity in 2023 – a series of fundamental trainings on psychological stability – the Masha Fund initiated the Leaders of Change program. “Over nine months our trainers delivered 513 sessions across six regions of Ukraine with 11,930 participants completing them. Working in the Kharkiv region was particularly challenging due to its proximity to the war zone, it is near Russia’s border so experiencing constant shelling and problems with electricity supply – training had to be frequently rescheduled or cancelled as accessing venues became impossible or too hazardous for attendees. It’s important to note that across all regions – not only Kharkiv Oblast – one prerequisite for hosting trainings was having a nearby shelter”, says project manager Olga Ivanenko. Experiences from countries currently enduring or previously impacted by war affirm that communities benefit when individuals possess mental health awareness skills and can offer psychological first aid; it enhances their resilience. This is crucial for Ukraine’s current circumstances as well as future prospects. Thanks to the Leaders of Change initiative by Masha Fund supported by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), we now have an additional 12 thousand such individuals within our communities. We encourage you to support us on our website https://lnkd.in/eFi6d7qw. Your help can empower more Ukrainian women to become leaders of change and bring hope to their communities. #LeadersOfChange #MashaFund #UkrainianNGO #StrongWomen #WomenEmpowerment #WomenInLeadership #WomenInCommunity
