Journey Center's to individuals age 4 through adulthood who have experienced, witnessed, or been exposed to domestic violence, child abuse, and/or another interpersonal trauma. The focus of Trauma Therapy is to assist clients in reducing the impact trauma has had on their emotional and mental functioning. Clients do this through the development of healthy coping skills and increased understanding about trauma and its impact. Without your help, survivors of domestic violence and child abuse will not receive critical services. Consider making a donation to Journey for those who have experienced child abuse and domestic violence. https://lnkd.in/d3KrRjni

I’m taking part in the Medicine Ball Challenge for Combat Stress and Army Benevolent Fund. Please sponsor me to raise money for a good cause and promote awareness of mental health issues, not only amongst our veteran community but in the modern world in general. One in four adults experience mental illness, and many more of us know and care for people who do. Talking openly about how we feel can help. A Medicine Ball is a weighted ball with a diameter approximately equivalent to shoulder width (35cm). It’s used in physical rehabilitation to improve strength and neuromuscular coordination. From the description (if you’ve never seen one) you can appreciate that they are unwieldy by design. I will be handcuffed to the medicine ball for 7 days. This unwieldy device is used in this challenge to symbolise the burden carried, or borne by someone with mental health issues, although the major difference is you can see the burden. This challenge will hopefully raise money for a good cause and draw attention to the invisible burden carried by those with mental health issues. I haven’t selected/been allocated a week to take the ball yet, as I’d like to enlist some support first and see how I get on with the fund raising. (I’m currently 171st on the leader board). People that know me will appreciate my ‘inside’ voice is firmly and deliberately on the ‘outside’ and I am more than happy to talk to people. So, if you see me wandering around, chuntering that this blooming thing is heavy and really annoying, stop me for a chat. Remember suicide rarely looks like suicide and it’s Okay to not be Okay! Say hello to people. Ask them how they are. Be kind. Here’s my fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/ehdJ3bfe #MedicineBallChallenge #ArmyBenevolentFund #CombatStress #SuicidePrevention #ItsOkaytonotbeOkay # # # # # # # #

It's not always what you think. These crimes include entrapping #professionals into acts of corporate embezzlement, money laundering - and the suppression of evidence in criminal investigations such as whistle-blower cases. We are doing all we can to combat this issue on a street level, where it exists, meeting victims where they are at - in the traps, the tracks, the motels. https://lnkd.in/e-zb8yqM provides no-cost housing, detox, recovery, purpose building, and job assistance to survivors, and needs YOUR help to go farther, faster. We are the only facility in Memphis that offers this to survivors with kids, and the need far outpaces our ability to fundraise to keep up. Help change the world for a kid in need today?

[Donation link below the post] **How can I live while death wraps around me for an entire year?** A whole year of extermination, and here I am trying to survive. Death has become a daily companion, surrounding me everywhere, and there is no escape from it. How do I live amidst this? How do I breathe while being besieged by fear? The word "extermination" alone was enough to paralyze my movement, turning heads gray, and yet, here I am living it every day. When did it become normal? Or have I truly gotten used to it? Perhaps it is adaptation, or a kind of numbness that prevents me from collapsing. I refuse to surrender, but at the same time, I see no clear way out. Every day is a new battle for survival, and nothing else. How do I escape this circle? I scream internally, but the echo of these screams gets lost in the darkness of reality. Perhaps the beginning is to refuse this normalization. To refuse to let death become a part of my day. To search for a glimmer of hope in anything small, even if it seems impossible. I must not allow extermination to erase my humanity. Perhaps this is the only solution; to remain hopeful, no matter how dark the reality is. Donation link : https://gofund.me/c53cf071

Jummah Mubarak! The verse emphasizes the importance of regular prayer, charitable actions, and communal worship. In relation to addiction, this message underscores the vital role of consistent spiritual practices to anchor oneself, the transformative power of contributing to the welfare of others through zakat, and the strength found in unity and shared experiences of recovery. These elements together foster resilience and support in overcoming addiction.
