    🚗 Driving Innovation and Growth in Ukraine’s Automotive Sector!   On November 25, the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP), in partnership with the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster, hosted the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Forum. 🌍   This pivotal event brought together around 100 participants, including European partners and Ukrainian industry leaders. Together, we explored key challenges, emerging trends, and inspiring success stories in the automotive and mobility sectors. Discussions centered on fostering investments and strengthening cooperation between manufacturers. USAID CEP team presented its ongoing support initiatives, highlighting opportunities for manufacturers to collaborate with CEP projects and benefit from workforce development programs that provide skilled talent.   The forum set the stage for tangible outcomes—new partnerships, increased production, and a boost in investments that will drive Ukraine’s economic resilience and innovation forward.

Don't wait — the deadline is December 2! 📢 The USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) announces a $1.8 million initiative to enhance educational and employment opportunities for Ukrainians. The initiative focuses on aligning worker skills with employer needs to facilitate labor market inclusion for youth, veterans, people with disabilities, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) and empower women in statistically male-dominated sectors. 🤝 It strengthens collaboration between private sector companies and vocational education providers, increases private sector engagement in job creation, and equips job seekers with essential skills for emerging sectors in Ukraine’s economy. Implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, this initiative will prioritize upskilling and reskilling in sectors critical to Ukraine's recovery, such as construction and logistics. 📅 The initiative consists of eight components, each with a budget ceiling of $230,000, and will run from November 2024 to June 30, 2025. 🔗 For more information about the initiative and application details, please visit: https://bit.ly/3C62uIT Applications will be accepted until December 2, 2024, from companies, business associations or clusters, non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, non-state universities, or vocational education and training (VET) schools legally registered in government-controlled areas of Ukraine.

    📢⏳ Until 30 November, the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) is selecting companies for the third wave of consultations from leading consulting companies to increase their export potential. As part of the initiative, businesses from the processing industry will be able to receive online consultations on building export potential and conducting export activities. Consultations will be provided by Ukrainian consulting companies, including Sayenko Kharenko, INTEGRITES, PwC Ukraine, Crowe, KPMG Ukraine. Up to 50 Ukrainian entrepreneurs from the processing sector of the economy will be able to receive consultations within the third wave. Manufacturing companies with 10 or more employees at the time of application can participate in the selection. Within the framework of this initiative, Ukrainian enterprises may receive export consultation services, specifically in the following topics: ☑️ Consulting Services on Tax Legislation ☑️ Accounting Consulting Services ☑️ Consulting services on the conclusion and execution of foreign economic contracts (except for disputes regarding the execution of contracts) ☑️ Consulting services on currency control and payment issues, including those related to exports ☑️ Consulting services on customs clearance and other issues related to the clearance of goods for export ☑️ Consulting services on issues of regulating product compliance with the requirements necessary, including for export, which may include issues related to product certification, various aspects of technical regulation of products, product labeling, product licensing, other permit documentation, product safety issues, etc. ☑️ Consulting services on issues related to logistics in export activities 📋 Detailed information on applying, required documents, and selection criteria at the link: https://lnkd.in/d_SvqUxk 🗓️ We accept applications until November 30, 2024. ⚠️ Please pay attention!     📋✨ Sharing the results from Hardware for Recovery | Lviv Hackathon that took place on November 22-24 in Lviv! From over 130 applications, 27 teams were selected to work tirelessly on developing innovative hardware solutions during the three-day hackathon. 24 teams made it to the finals, and here are our winners: 🥇 First Place (50,000 UAH) — Touch Vision: A comprehensive system designed to improve users' visual-motor skills and reaction time. The system's core component features 53 touch sensors arranged on a board in front of the user. 🥈 Second Place (30,000 UAH) — Allbionics: A 100% Ukrainian-made bionic hand and forearm prosthesis, complete from hand to socket. 🥉 Third Place (20,000 UAH) — HowCow: A device and CRM system for 🐮 that enhances farm productivity through real-time monitoring, timely detection of fertilization, and animal health issue identification. Special recognition: Our partners Noosphere awarded the PL KPI of the Igor Sikorsky team for their ePastukh solution, a system that monitors cattle grazing using drones and a mobile app. Bonus achievement: HowCow team also received an invitation to participate in the Challenger Accelerator AI pre-acceleration boot camp! Congratulations to all winning teams, and a huge thank you to all participants for their hard work and enthusiasm and for creating such a friendly atmosphere throughout the hackathon!     📈 Ukrainian Company Esper Bionics Doubled Production of Innovative Prostheses with USAID CEP Support Esper Bionics, an innovative Ukrainian producer of bionic prosthetics specializing in upper limbs, has been providing cutting-edge solutions for Ukrainian veterans and individuals who lost limbs due to the Russian war, as well as for anyone in need of prosthetics. The company gained international recognition for producing the world's first AI-powered robotic hand that improves its functionality over time through machine learning.  ✨🦾 Esper Bionics manufactures innovative robotic upper limb prostheses for Ukrainian veterans and everyone who needs prosthetics. It was Esper Bionics that produced the world's first robotic hand that uses artificial intelligence and improves its work during use. Since May 2024, Esper Bionics has become a grantee of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP). This support will help the company purchase important equipment to significantly improve Esper Bionics' production capabilities, allowing for more variable details to be manufactured on-site and reducing production time. Since June 2024, the number of manufactured prostheses has doubled — from 15 to 30 prostheses per month. In addition to expanding its technological infrastructure, Esper Bionics has also bolstered its team: the company has recruited 11 new specialists, including engineers, mechanics, and operations managers. Moving forward, Esper Bionics plans to hire an additional 9 employees to support further growth.    Also, the company has begun training prosthetists in Ukrainian clinics. So far, 10 specialists have completed training, and the company plans to expand this number in the near future. 🤝 USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) continues to support Ukraine's economy by cooperating with companies like Esper Bionics. Through these collaborative efforts, Ukrainian businesses are growing rapidly, attracting investment, and creating new jobs — crucial steps in the country's path to recovery.

    🚗🧴 The German-Ukrainian enterprise DrakenBerg, a grantee of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP), is expanding production, hiring Ukrainian veterans, and launching new sales on Amazon. drakenberg.com.ua, founded in 2021, specializes in the development and production of world-class auto chemicals. Their products include contactless cleaning products, interior care products, car rinses, and fabric and leather care products. The company produces products under the TM Polychrom 2020 and has production facilities in Khmelnytskyi. Due to a grant from the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP), the company purchased and installed an automatic machine for bottling liquids, which allowed it to modernize and automate production processes. The production capacity of the company increased from 1000 to 3600 liters of liquid per hour, which is equivalent to 6 bottles of the finished product every minute. This significantly improved production efficiency, increased sales, and created new jobs for Ukrainians. 📈 To date, the company has already employed two Ukrainian veterans. In September, it successfully launched sales on Amazon Germany, which contributed to the growth of its product sales.

    🤝 8 Ukrainian Startups to Showcase at CES 2025 The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is one of the world's most influential tech exhibitions, setting trends for the upcoming year. This prestigious event will take place from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas, USA, attracting over 140,000 visitors from around the globe. For Ukrainian companies, CES 2025 offers a unique opportunity to establish themselves on the international stage, secure strategic partnerships, and attract investment. 📋 After a competitive selection process, 8 Ukrainian hardware startups have been chosen to join the delegation: S.Lab, Syla, Qudi, Versi Bionics, eXtra Vision | augmented reality in surgery, BEETLESS, Pickpad, and Profeed.     ✨ On November 15, the Interregional Forum "Ukrainian Exports: Present and Future" was held, which was organized by the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP). The event was attended by more than a hundred representatives of export-oriented businesses in the western regions of Ukraine (Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Ternopil regions), experts, representatives of Ukrainian ministries, state, regional, and local authorities. During the panel discussions, the participants discussed the current state and main challenges of Ukrainian exports, in particular, infrastructural and logistical challenges, issues of labor resources, regulatory and financial aspects of exports. 📓 Based on the results of the Forum, recommendations will be developed to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian exports and proposals will be developed to improve regulatory and legal acts in the field of export activity. The forum was the final event of the Project "USAID supports the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry in conducting a course of training and consulting services for export managers", which lasted from April to November 2024 and involved more than a hundred participants - representatives of export-oriented businesses. Within its limits, the following was held for export managers of enterprises in the western regions of Ukraine: ☑️ 12 educational webinars; ☑️ 5 thematic round tables; ☑️ 2 educational tours to get acquainted with the successful practices of exporting enterprises. Also experts of the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry: ☑️ created a manual on export issues, ☑️ conducted individual and group consultations, ☑️ and provided recommendations on export strategies of enterprises.

    Lebedin Woodwork Combine LLC received a new advanced CNC machine tool from the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) and is training employees in new skills to stimulate mass production and company growth. 🏭 Lebedin Woodwork Combine is one of the leading Ukrainian producers of high-quality oak lumber from the Sumy Oblast. The enterprise has more than 16,000 m2 of production space and more than 10 production lines, which allows for the production of a large volume of a wide range of products.
