About us
EcoPlastile is a registered Ugandan social enterprise established to tackle the challenges of post-consumer plastic pollution, waste management, deforestation, and climate change while improving access to medical services. Ecoplastile allows household to use plastic plus agricultural waste as a form of financial resource in exchange for medical services. We have developed a chemical-free and energy-conserving plastic extrusion technology called “Waxy ӀӀ technology” to recycle and transform post-consumer plastic garbage and packaging materials into durable and long-lasting plastic timbers (lumbers) and other building hardware. Plastic timbers are affordable alternatives to wood timbers, hence reduces the need for building material manufactured from wood, helping to preserve forests, cut down on deforestation, and further mitigation of climate change. The plastic timbers which are ideal products for building, construction, and furniture making are normally made in 10ft on average and shaped either round or square. Vision Statement: The company’s vision is “A Sustainable Green Africa, Free from Poverty, Unemployment and Indecent Housing”. Mission Statement The company’s Sole Mission is “To provide Durable, Affordable and eco-friendly alternatives to wooden timbers and other building hardware, whilst creating green jobs, reducing waste pollution, deforestation and the effects of climate change while improving public health” EcoPlastile uses 100% recycled post-consumer waste to manufacture very durable, affordable, and aesthetic plastic lumbers and other environmentally friendly building material solutions for application ranging from fencing, furniture making landscaping, roofing, and other building purposes. Ours is one of the most low cost and environmentally sensitive products in its industry today. Benefits of EcoPlastile Products: Are termite resistant, cheaper by over 15% and reduces long term maintenance costs, Customisable to suit customer needs

Our #CFAUganda investor event is live in Kampala! The five graduating CFA projects are being showcased to Ugandan investors with an interest in investing in low carbon projects. Congratulations to Agrosahas International PVT Limited, Bukona Agro Processors Ltd, eBee.africa, Eco Brixs and Ecoplastile for your hard work over the last few months. As well as having the opportunity to pitch for investment, the entrepreneurs are receiving constructive advice and guidance from the investors present. Thank you to new British High Commissioner to Uganda Lisa Chesney, MBE, Ian P. Milborrow and Amanda Kabagambe for being part of the event, and to all of the investors who are attending. Also present to give short pitches are some of the projects from the first cohort of CFA Uganda. They have seen good progress since they graduated from the programme earlier this year, with at least one investment close to being finalised. We hope to see this success shared amongst other CFA Uganda projects in the coming months. It's great to welcome you back Zembo, Clean Energy partnership for Africa (CEPA) Limited, Silver Fleet Limited, Kwanza Infrastructure Group, Kyamuhunga Tea Company Limited and Protone Energies Limited! #climatefinance Bethel Advisors, UK in Uganda

Peron’s journey to Ecoplastile is inspiring, blending a strong foundation in communication with a deep commitment to sustainability. With a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Ibanda University, Peron honed her storytelling skills during an internship at Crooze FM Radio in Mbarara District. After developing a love for impactful communication, Peron sought a role that aligned with her passion for environmental sustainability. Discovering Ecoplastile , Peron volunteered for a year before joining the team full-time, bringing her dedication to a mission that turns plastic waste into something valuable. As the Communications and Impact Associate, Peron manages Ecoplastile’s social media platforms, creates engaging content, and interacts with our growing online community. Peron also monitors digital metrics to ensure our strategies are effective and innovative. Peron describes the work culture as collaborative and purpose-driven. Everyone shares a strong commitment to making a positive difference in the world, and this sense of purpose drives their collective efforts. We are thrilled to share that yesterday, we proudly launched the PET plastic collection partnership between Wastepays App, PepsiCo, PepsiCo South Africa, and Crown Beverages Limited in Jinja City, Uganda! With 500+ plastic collection agents in Jinja, our joint focus is to make plastic collection a profitable and sustainable venture for all involved. It’s incredible to reflect that less than two months ago, the Ecoplastile team initiated this conversation at the #GreenIndustrialAgenda launch by the Uganda Manufacturers Association. Working closely with Crown Beverages Limited, we’ve moved tirelessly to achieve this milestone for the people of Jinja. PepsiCo is fully supporting the setup of a PET collection hub with a warehouse, an electric baling machine for plastic compression, and even a 3-wheeler tricycle for plastic aggregation. By Q4 2024, this hub aims to collect 50 metric tons of PET plastics from Eastern Uganda! This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to tackling plastic pollution, while also creating economic opportunities for waste pickers and aggregators across Uganda.
