Yesterday we were honored to join USAID in celebrating 62 years of supporting Uganda's development in economic growth, health, humanitarian assistance, education, and democratic governance. The exhibition at Serena Hotel was a testament to USAID's enduring commitment to the nation refugees inclusive. As a co-funder of WFP's Ignite Food Systems Challenge 2.0, we have witnessed firsthand the power of innovation to address critical challenges in displaced communities. The project's focus on oyster mushrooms as a sustainable solution for food security, nutrition, and income generation for refugees in southwestern Uganda is truly inspiring. On this #WorldFoodDay 🥙,let's highlight the urgent need to ensure food security in refugee communities and work to transform our #foodsystems to be affordable and accessible for everyone. As we deal with challenges like climate change, loss of biodiversity, and food shortages, it's important to focus on regenerative agricultural practices. This includes integrating mushroom 🍄cultivation, which helps restore and protect our planet. #worldfoodday #Healthfoodmatters #Organicfood #Endhunger

What is regenerative agriculture to you? At HODARI Foundation, 🌾regenerative agriculture means restoring ecosystems that have been damaged by overuse, climate change, or unsustainable farming methods. We use #permaculture approach to work with nature’s cycles. This involves planting different diverse crops, integrating agro-forestry, and fostering biodiversity. We focus on using natural and renewable resources to help heal the environment, lower carbon emissions, and build ecosystems that can handle climate change. This has lead to cleaner air, healthier soil, and better water retention, benefiting both nature and the people who depend on it. We are thankful to Uganda Biodiversity Fund for their support in providing quality seeds and knowledge on sustainable land management and the right agricultural inputs. #sustainableagriculture #Restorebiodversity #foodsecurity #Regeneratecommunities
