Bringing the advantages of electricity to the poorest in society

About us

Renewable energy for the poorest in society EACO Friendly (EACOF) (eacofriendly.com) is an organisation formed in 2015, jointly operated by Empower and Care Organisation and an English business man, the objective being to start sustainable businesses which employ young men and women (if possible as apprentices) and then send them out into the communities to spread their learning. To date EACOF has businesses in agriculture, clean burning stoves and micro-finance and is attempting to start businesses in health, education and energy. Leas-E-lecT Energy (leas-e-lect.energy) has been created as an individual brand to • promote and lease solar power electric lamps and phone chargers to the poorest in society, that is, in the last mile, both economical and in distance, • improve the image of solar power in these communities and • employ young men and women. Leas-E-lecT Energy aims to do this by employing commission only agents to sell leases then collect lease payments on a weekly basis. On their visits to customers the agent will train (and retrain) users, maintain the units, repair and replace units as demands necessitates thus ensuring a reliable electricity source. The ability to have light and phone charging brings a number of benefits: • Children and adults will be able to read and learn after work or school, • Smallholders will be able to charge their phones at home rather than walking to town, • Business can develop and trade over the internet, • People will have access to loans and on-line banking, • Girls will be able to educate themselves without having to confront taboos, • Farmers may negotiate better prices for their products, • Families can learn how to add value to the produce from the farm and sell them, • Youngsters will have access to opportunities outside their community and • People will find employment. To kick start this project and obtain the best discount for solar lights with chargers and transport requires the purchase of about 4000 units to fill one container. The payback for this is 122% over 2 years for an outlay in the order of $90,000. We kindly ask you consider the concept of our unique business model for renewable energy. We would welcome any opportunity to come and discuss it with you at your convenience.
