Hope+shelter for landslide survivors!🏕️ UNICEF Uganda has provided emergency tents to families affected by recent landslides in Bulambuli District. These tents are more than just temporary shelters—they offer a safe space for families to rebuild their lives with dignity & hope. The reusable, high-performance emergency tents are resilient to harsh weather & designed to keep disease-carrying mosquitos away. The response package also included mosquito nets, soap, water purification tablets, emergency medicines, & nutrition screening kits. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: ✅ Nakivale Refugee Settlement: Met headteachers at Kashojwa Common Primary School and engaged with Accelerated Education Programme (AEP) learners who are bridging gaps in their education journeys. ✅ Yumbe: Commissioned the Kimba Youth Skilling Centre in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, empowering young people with life-changing vocational skills. ✅ Arua: Visited the Nutrition Unit at the Regional Referral Hospital, interacted with mothers in nutrition education sessions, and collaborated with district leaders on child health and nutrition. ✅ Koboko & Isingiro: Met with leaders from key sectors to address health, education, and community service needs. ✅ Nabilatuk: Participated in community nutrition-enhancing activities and visited Nabilatuk Health Centre IV, supporting child survival efforts. UNICEF remains steadfast in working with government and partners to deliver sustainable, impactful results #ForEveryChild in Uganda.
