Ahead of the winter break, I’ve been reflecting on an incredible 2024 at 100x Impact Accelerator - so much has happened this year and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of what we’ve achieved as a team. Some highlights for me have been: 𝟭. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀: We welcomed two amazing new cohorts this year, each filled with passionate entrepreneurs and innovators dedicated to solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Their efforts and dedication never cease to amaze me! 𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗦𝗘 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: We’re excited to have four active research projects linked to 100x in full swing, three of which involve LSE researchers partnering with 100x cohort ventures to provide evidence-based insights that can help to shape the future of their impact 𝟯. 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Partnering with LSE’s Academic Director of Impact, Professor Elizabeth Stokoe, together we kicked off a new initiative to hear from LSE colleagues and their external partners about their experiences of working together to create change, impact, and benefit from research. For anyone LSE-based, signups for the 2025 events are currently live, please do join us! 𝟰. 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆: A standout moment in the 100x calendar, Summit Day 2024 was a great success! It brought together our community of changemakers, innovators, and impact-first funders for an incredible celebration of our cohort's innovative solutions to global challenges. 𝟱. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁: And last but not least, we added a little extra joy to the team with the arrival of our new mascot!   I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the impact that 100x is working to help scale. It’s been a year of learning, innovation, and growth for us as a team and an organisation, with much more ahead in 2025. To the team, the ventures, and everyone who has been part of 100x so far: congratulations on an amazing year 💫 and happy holidays!

    Building the impact economy

📈 100x Applications open! 📈 In a world grappling with complex challenges, we are driven by a simple yet profound question: What does it take to scale the impact of social innovations so they can reach hundreds of millions of people? Part of the answer lies in combining world-class insights from a platform like The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with bold, practical action from a world-leading impact accelerator like 100x Impact Accelerator. At its core, an impact accelerator helps visionary, impact-first organisations extend their reach on a massive scale. This might mean growing their organisation, enabling government or commercial adoption of their model, or open-sourcing their approach. The key word here is impact. That’s what made the ventures in our most recent cohort at the 2024 summit day so inspiring. These ventures have proven models for tackling urgent social challenges — often born from first-hand experience of where systems fail — and ambitions to multiply their impact rather than their size. Their diversity is striking: non-profits, commercial ventures, and social enterprises from across the globe, who are driving change in education, healthcare, climate, inequality, and democracy. Our job at 100x is to support these amazing ventures to impact hundreds of millions of lives over the next 10 years. They do the harder job of leading that change. We support them through a combination of unrestricted grant capital, a world-class accelerator programme, connections to leading researchers, access to follow-on funding as well as the LSE’s extraordinary global network. We also study patterns of success and failure, sharing insights with governments, philanthropies, and universities to scale the impact of social innovations everywhere. All this to say: we’d love for you to join the 100x community. The most exciting way to get involved is to apply to our next cohort of ventures. Applications are open for the 2025/26 cohort here: 🔘 https://lnkd.in/e_KpSjeD If you know a social venture poised for explosive growth in their impact, please encourage them to apply by January 5th. And if you’re part of one, we’d love to hear from you! #impact

We are delighted to announce that Carlos Miranda will be joining the Marshall Institute as a Practitioner in Residence in 2025! Carlos is an entrepreneur passionate about business with purpose. Over the past 15 years, he has founded three businesses that help both for- and non-profit organisations realise their social impact ambitions. His first venture, I.G. Advisors, bridges the gap between fundraisers, businesses and philanthropists and is an award-winning advisor and thought partner to some of the world’s biggest organisations including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, UN Women, and UNICEF. Through his work with I.G.’s clients, Carlos realised that most non-profits were not using either social media or technology as well as they could be. His next two businesses aimed to bridge that gap: Social Misfits Media, a social media agency acquired by Freuds Communications in 2020, and Lightful, a tech-for-good company, where Carlos served as Chairman until 2023. Over the years, Carlos has served on the Board of many non-profit organizations. Currently, he is on the Board of Foundation Scotland. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA from New York University. A native Spanish speaker and an avid fan of ramen, coffee and sci-fi, he’s also father to very rambunctious boy-girl twins. Unfortunately, he failed to convince his wife Alisha of the benefits of naming them Luke and Leia. We’re very excited to have Carlos working closely with us for 2025 and joining our amazing community of Practitioners in residence! Swatee Deepak Sonal Sachdev Patel Luke Fletcher Manuel Antunes
