🏴🇬🇧 An extraordinary week showcasing Scotland's entrepreneurial spirit in London! Last week, 20 Photos joined 19 other high-growth Scottish startups/scaleups for Foras Autumn programme, showing off the incredible potential emerging from Scotland. The experience was transformative, filled with networking, learning and opportunities. (Who knew it could be fun as well?) A standout moment was 'Scotch and Pitches' at Evelyn Partners, (thank you, Rachael Smith). The room buzzed with energy as I presented alongside remarkable founders, reinforcing Scotland's position as a hub for innovation. (Link in👇 to my brilliant cohort) My Sifted Summit highlight was Alma Angels office hours offering critical guidance for our growth journey. Thank you, Christiane Gross, for your time. Engaging with fellow entrepreneurs and investors highlighted the strength of Scotland's startup ecosystem. Inspiring to see the diversity of sectors represented and the collaborative spirit. Post-event, I've returned to 20 Photos HQ re-energised. Immense gratitude to Dec McLaughlin and Caro Melendez 🔜 MEDICA🇩🇪/Slush🇫🇮 for making this happen. The camaraderie among Scottish founders was truly remarkable- we are stronger and faster together. (And we'll have a lot more fun on the way..!)

The universal power of images and the joy of preserving our most cherished memories never gets old! On World Photo Day, here's an interview with founder, Jo Tennant
Photography speaks a language we all understand - transcending time and words. A portal through which so much can be said. 🪄🦄 That’s pretty magic if you ask me. ‘Share your world with the world’ says ‘World Photo Day’ (today!)… for me, it’s that sentiment that never gets old… done right, a photo is a way to convey what you’ve seen and keep it forever. In our digital age, smartphone cameras have democratised visual storytelling, allowing everyone to become a photographer and chronicler of their world. Yet, as our photo libraries grow, there's something enduring about holding a printed image, sharing it with loved ones, and reliving those cherished moments together. I recently had the pleasure of discussing this and more with Hood Magazine. If you're curious about photography's role in today's world, you can read the full interview through the link in comments.

What's your photo number?? I'd love to know if you can beat our founder, Jo Tennant's!
35,000 memories trapped in your pocket? Did you know the average smartphone holds over 35,000 photos? What's your photo number? (You'll see in this image that I'm distinctly above average 😉 but definitely not an outlier either!) I discovered this digital overwhelm firsthand during lockdown. While juggling homeschooling and maintaining my identity as a photographer, I started a personal project curating my family photos. What began as a creative outlet quickly revealed a universal problem. Are you part of the 96% who'd like to print their photos but don't? At 20 Photos, we're tackling this challenge head-on. We've developed an innovative approach combining AI technology with human curation to help people rediscover and cherish their most meaningful moments. We distill thousands of photos into 20 carefully curated, professionally edited prints that tell your unique story. It's not about selecting technically perfect shots, but finding the images that best narrate a person's journey. No more hours of overwhelming curation, editing, or endless print options. I'm excited to be at the forefront of transforming how people interact with their personal photo collections. 20 Photos' goal isn't to replace the joy of capturing moments, but to enhance the experience of reliving them. How do you currently manage your digital memories? Endless cloud storage? Sporadic printing? Or are they lost in the depths of your phone? I'd love to hear your strategy (or lack thereof) in the comments! #DigitalMemories #PhotoCuration #AI #Entrepreneurship

On finding the communities that collaborate rather than compete >>
"They have the abundance mindset of the more the merrier." - Emmie Faust of Female Founders Rise. Yesterday I joined the onboarding call for the latest Innovate UK Women in Innovation Awards. The standard briefing call for InnovateUK competitions was turned on it's head within the chat and latterly in the Panel Discussion by the attendees sharing not just links for self promotion but also resources that might help other women on the call. The Panel discussion was impressive and inspiring - I was struck particularly by Reedah El-Saie's eloquence as a non-technical, solo female founder... "You have to have a mindset of I will find a way no matter what happens" is scribbled in my notebook. I can't tell you the importance to see and hear from people who I can identify with to be able to believe that you can do it too. I am so pleased to have found communities of brilliant women in tech for my journey with 20 Photos who believe in lifting as they climb... the headspace is entirely different to the world that I had been inhabiting. To finish quoting Emmie's post today - "Entrepreneurship is hard but it doesn’t have to be lonely." So, in case they're helpful to you too >>> https://lnkd.in/eyhM2vjt https://lnkd.in/e2hdtASX
