  • I recently went to one of the best concerts by one of my favourite artists, Childish Gambino. He often talks about how he doesn’t believe in failure—only steps towards the next success. This resonates with me as I try to balance building a business. I’ve learned that where I am now doesn’t define my success. Instead, it’s the direction I’m heading that matters. I used to think success was the result of progress. However, it’s become clear that progress itself is success. My focus has shifted to daily improvements—learning fast, failing quickly, and constantly refining both myself and the business to serve others better. As Gambino suggests, success isn’t something we chase; it’s something we attract through growth.     🚀 Embracing Failure and Growth: Our Journey So Far 🌟 As we reflect on our first year of running 55 Online, one lesson stands out: fail and fail fast. It might sound backwards, but for us, every challenge, setback, or failure is just another lesson to absorb and grow from. The beauty of being a small start-up lies in our ability to pivot, change direction, and learn quickly from every mistake. Instead of getting bogged down by the pressure to be perfect, we’ve embraced the process of trying, failing, and trying again. This mindset has allowed us to adapt, innovate, and keep moving forward with each new experience. Failure has been our greatest teacher, showing us where we can improve and helping us build resilience. It’s taken the pressure off, knowing that we can experiment, learn, and evolve without being afraid to make mistakes. In the end, it’s all about continuous growth and becoming better at what we do. Following our journey from university days to founding 55 Online, we’ve been hard at work, balancing our passion for design with the realities of having full-time jobs. It’s been a challenge, but the growth we’ve experienced makes it all worthwhile. We’re thrilled to have gained new clients over the past few months, each bringing unique opportunities and lessons. Every project has been a learning curve, pushing us to constantly develop and refine our skills. One of the highlights has been securing an ongoing partnership with CUI—a fantastic opportunity that’s especially meaningful as Matty and I were both heavily involved with CUI during our uni years. It’s been exciting to collaborate with them once again, this time from a professional standpoint. As we’ve grown, we’ve also focused on improving our own processes. From refining our internal communications and design workflow to enhancing how we interact with clients, every step has been about becoming more proficient and effective in what we do. The summer months have been a big push for us in terms of social media. We’ve been drafting, planning, and creating templates and content that are gradually rolling out, including our very first showreel—an exciting yet time-consuming project that we’re proud to share. Our website also got another update. The continuous tweaking and redesigning have been part of our journey in developing our own brand. At the end of the day, we strive to do for ourselves what we offer to do for others: creating a strong, cohesive brand that resonates.
