A Memorable Night at the Yorkshire Asian Business Association Event Yesterday was truly a remarkable evening at the Yorkshire Asian Business Association event, hosted at the prestigious Cedar Court Hotels Yorkshire. The atmosphere was electric with excitement, celebration, and a shared spirit of unity. The African Business Association-Yorkshire was proudly and actively represented throughout the night's activities. Our members demonstrated the strength, diversity, and cultural richness of our community. A highlight of the evening was the participation of our esteemed Director, Olushola Adeborode Kolawole (OAK), MCIPS, Ph.D, FHEA who served as a judge for the Sustainable Business Award. His expertise and insight were instrumental in the selection process, and we were delighted to see Nile Henry announced as the well-deserving winner of this prestigious award. Adding a vibrant cultural touch to the evening, some of our talented members showcased the elegance and beauty of authentic African attire during the fashion show. Their stunning display of African fashion captivated the audience, highlighting the creativity and craftsmanship rooted in our rich heritage. It was a night filled with joy, connection, and meaningful networking. Moments like these remind us of the power of coming together to celebrate diversity, business excellence, and shared values. Yesterday was a truly splendid day as the African Business Association-Yorkshire had the privilege of attending the Charity Festive Ball hosted by the Leeds City Council Lord Mayor. The annual Festive Ball is one of the most anticipated events in the Lord Mayor’s calendar, bringing together community leaders, changemakers, and supporters for a noble cause. This year’s event was no exception, with a remarkable turnout and an atmosphere filled with warmth, joy, and festive cheer. It was heartening to see so many inspiring individuals gathered in one place, united in celebration and support for charitable causes. Adding to the evening’s significance, the occasion coincided with the Lord Mayor's birthday Abigail Marshall Katung. It was a wonderful opportunity to honour and celebrate not only her leadership but also her dedication and service to the community. We extend our heartfelt birthday wishes to the Lord Mayor and offer our sincere gratitude for all the incredible work she is doing. May your year ahead be filled with continued success, good health, and fulfillment.
