Look beyond surface appearances and have honest, respectful conversations about their daily challenges and how they want to live. This option allows elderly individuals to remain in their familiar home environment while receiving professional, personalized care. With the dreadful flooding that has taken place in many areas this week, it may be of interest to read the Gov.UK webpage titled What to do before or during a flood. The information given not only applies to the weather floods but to a flood caused by something as simple as a burst pipe. https://lnkd.in/eR7rqumy

This is regarding the Sky News Story this morning about a fake, live-in carer placed by an introductory care agency in the home of a vulnerable person. Able Community Care has been an Introductory Care Agency for over four decades as have other reputable care providers. To mention just two points of difference between us and the care agency involved, which had they been in place, the situation outlined would not have occurred: 1. Able Community Care interviews every potential live-in care worker, and we do not offer interviews to applicants who have not worked professionally for less than 12 months. The information is then robustly checked out. 2. For every booking, with the permission of every live-in carer, a photograph is sent to either the client, social worker, advocate, or family member so that the incoming carer can be checked on the doorstep by the carer who is in situ and has to stay to give a handover. Photographs are renewed every two years. Able Community Care, based in Norfolk but available everywhere. If you would like more information, please feel free to call us on 01603 764567. https://lnkd.in/eQJTgxbE
Cold weather seems to bring an increased number of doorstep, cold callers. Recent newspapers have highlighted the problem in Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Lancashire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. This may be the reason why this month so far, ( November 15th) we have had 3,607 requests for our Do Not Knock door sticker..
