About us
The Association for Professionals in the Management of Clinical Data The Association for Clinical Data Management (ACDM) represents professionals working in the management of clinical data. Founded over 30 years ago, we have been at the forefront of changes in all aspects of the management of clinical data in clinical trials. We have supported our members through training, conferences, discussions and information provision and, over the last 30 years, have covered areas such as the introduction of GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, ICH GCP R2, the implementation of EDC, remote monitoring, Risk Based Monitoring as well as a wide range of other relevant industry topics. We have a large, diverse membership and aim to lead the development and appreciation of the essential activities of those working in the sector. We represent and support professionals involved with managing, capturing, handling and designing methods to collect clinical data from within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic research fields. The ACDM provides explicit settings for the membership to develop standards within the profession. We also seek to enhance the individual skills, knowledge and professional development of our members. Our intent is to equip members with the skills to participate more effectively in the mainstream of drug development. At the hub of ACDM activities, our website offers a diverse, valuable resource for all levels of professional people managing clinical data. We aim to promote best practices, share knowledge and assist with the professional development of our growing membership.

Does your clinical data management team celebrate together after successfully locking a database........ For clinical data management teams, locking a database is a moment worth celebrating. It represents the culmination of months, sometimes years, of meticulous effort and collaboration to ensure data quality and integrity. The achievement often brings a sense of pride and relief, and teams frequently mark the occasion with celebrations, whether it’s a simple toast, a team lunch, or even small tokens of appreciation. These moments not only acknowledge the hard work involved but also foster team morale, providing a well-earned pause before the study progresses to its next phase. This provides the focus for this week's ACDM LinkedIn Poll. What are your experiences of celebrating a clinical trial database lock? Robert King, Sverre Bengtsson, Nina Reyes, Eva Alder, Jo Marshall, Amelie Spieser, Anita Kratchmarov, Nicola Götz, Richard Davies, Ashley Howard #clinicalresearch #clinicaltrials #clinicaloperations #clinicaldatamanagement #ACDM

What do you enjoy most about being Clinical Data Manager.... Clinical data management is a field that draws in passionate professionals for a variety of reasons. For some, it’s the challenge of transforming raw data into meaningful insights that can drive life-saving research. Others love the meticulous nature of ensuring data accuracy, knowing that even the smallest detail can impact the success of a clinical trial. There are those who find fulfillment in the collaborative environment, working alongside CRAs, sites, statisticians, and project managers to bring therapies to market. And of course, many are driven by the deeper purpose—knowing that their work contributes to the development of treatments that can improve patients' lives. Whatever the motivation, it’s clear that clinical data management offers both challenges and rewarding experiences that keep professionals engaged and passionate. This prompts the ACDM LinkedIn Poll this week. What do you enjoy most about being Clinical Data Manager?
