Valuing everyone by celebrating achievements of people we support is always positive and uplifting. Our life skills centre in Essex recently went all out with an amazing red-carpet awards event. Categories such as ‘Being part of the local community’, ‘Bravery and stepping outside your comfort zone’, ‘Creativity‘ and ‘Communication’ ensured everyone was applauded for their successes in 2024. Being part of The Challenging Behaviour Foundation’s National Strategy Group reception at Westminster in November was a great opportunity to talk to so many people including MPs and peers. Achieve together and self-advocacy group Campaign 4 Change plan to be in the thick of discussions around adult social care, mental health and other pressing issues in 2025, calling for action on the rights of people with learning disability and autistic people. As an organisation, we continue on the path to ensure that co-production is central to how we support people. We are assisted by Unity our co-production group which comprises people we support who are experts by experience. The video shows just a few things Unity members were involved in during 23-24. Here are some inspiring facts from our recent #ImpactReport: In our 2024 Your Voice Matters team member pulse survey – 99% of respondents felt they had the skills to support people to live happy, healthy and meaningful lives. During 2023-24, 387 team members internally promoted and 43 were promoted internally to Home Manager or Registered Manager. Developing their careers, 873 operational team members progressed to next level via our Career Adventures framework which includes our Great Manager Academy.
