Active Gloucestershire makes progress on pathways project🌟 Active Gloucestershire is reaching a major milestone this month in the Physical Activity for Health Pathways project. As a Community of Practice member Active Gloucestershire are playing a key role in supporting the co-development of solutions to make it easier for people to access the support they need to move more often. The Active Partnerships National Organisation (APNO) selected Move Consulting to collaborate on this Sport England-funded project. The aim is to develop a framework and toolkit that will support the health sector, engaging with physical activity providers, to make it easier for those living with or at risk of long-term health conditions to access the support they need to move more often. 👉Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eqWCrQmG Active Partnerships Move Consulting Sport England #ActiveGloucestershire #WeCanMove #ActivePartnerships #MoveConsulting #PhysicalActivity4HealthPathways #LongTermConitions #PhysicalActivity #Health

"And with over 75,000 sports clubs powered by 10 million volunteers in England alone... we can truly make a difference." Our Chair, Chris Boardman, has been speaking at COP29 advocating for sport to be at the heart of global climate change policies. Our first-ever environmental sustainability strategy, Every Move, is our roadmap to carbon neutrality, in a way that ensures everyone has equal access to high-quality green and blue space, and physical activity is sustainably embedded into our daily lives. Deer Park Archers is a community archery club in Gloucestershire that exemplifies sustainability, participation, and inclusion. They have been promoting environmental sustainability by: 🏠 Recycling an ex-NHS modular operating theatre into the clubhouse 🏹 Reinforcing the outdoor grass shooting surface with a plastic grid to allow for all-weather use ➕ So much more! #SportEngland | #EveryMove | #GoingForGreen

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for me. Making the decision to leave Active Gloucestershire was not easy, but I am thrilled to announce that I’ve recently started the role of Project Manager with the NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board—an opportunity that I couldn't let pass by. As I reflect on my time at Active Gloucestershire, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible growth I experienced in such a short period. My journey there was wonderfully diverse— I had the privilege of serving as the Insight Officer; hosting the inaugural podcast series for We Can Move; and managing revitalised place-based initiatives in the Forest of Dean, a location that holds a special place in my heart. I developed a wide array of skills and was supported in pursuing my passions, which is a rare gift in today’s professional world. What I will cherish most, however, is the spirit and camaraderie of the team. Their passion and dedication inspired me daily. I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside such talented individuals who became my friends. My time at Active Gloucestershire will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am deeply thankful for the platform it has provided for my career. As I embark on this new chapter with the NHS Gloucestershire ICB, I will carry with me the amazing memories and invaluable experiences and lessons from Active Gloucestershire.

Pedal power and the new cycle lane saves the day for Goals Beyond Grass Bikes!🚲🌟 A mechanical issue with the van nearly cancelled a crucial session at Belmont School. Without the van, Goals Beyond Grass had to transport three twin bikes from GL3 Community Hub using pedal power, taking advantage of Gloucester’s new super green Cycle Lane! 👉Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/eR2bQBEp #ActiveGloucestershire #WeCanMove #JoinTheMovement #BecomeAChangemaker
