kling.kuaishou.com (in Beijing) have a new AI video gen model. This - on the face of it looks at least as good as Sora - if not better. The detail is outstanding. The pace of change is picking up. In 6 months, text generated video will be indistinguishable from HD video. The implications for this technology are wide ranging and unparalleled - for good and bad. We are not ready at all for the avalanche that is coming our way. Prepare for whats coming.

Teachers desperately wish there to be a way to detect AI in student essays, so the demand is filled by someone seeking economic profit. This is akin to alternative medicines which are consumed by terminally-ill patients who refuse to believe their disease is incurable. AI detectors have high flaw positives & teacher intuition seems to work even worse: “Here we show in two experimental studies that novice and experienced teachers could not identify texts generated by ChatGPT among student-written texts.” Ultimately, AI detectors are a futile attempt to square the circle of change that is only just beginning in education. Bank card fraud costs billions every year in the UK. Thousands of employees, £1.2 billion a year lost to fraud and a vast network to contain and minimise its effects are costly to a large number of corporations. The latest analysis on the development of X-Ray - our card fraud identification model - continues apace: X-Ray is able to consistently outperform current state of the art ML systems for fraud detection on all datasets tested so far. Our model is able to process a high volume of transactions, with almost no latency. We are looking for more datasets from academia, banking, payment processing and retail market to test our model.
