Another fascinating talk from the brilliant neuropsychologist Professor Catherine Loveday about the science behind New Year's resolutions We always learn so much after Catherine's talks and here are just a few science-backed takeaways.... * Whether it's doing more exercise, learning an instrument or giving up smoking, January is the worst time to set a resolution - you're much more likely to succeed in April * Getting good sleep makes it more likely you'll stick to your goals * Finding it hard to start? Visualise how you'll feel at the end - people who imagine achieving their goals are more likely to reach them. * Don't put pressure on yourself and let yourself off if you fail at first - start with just 10 minutes towards your goal Catherine's next talk is on love and memory - and will include strategies to boost our memories.
