Continuing to introduce the community, someone rather close to us in this case, while also appearing at Sync the City as a mentor, we have Founder James Charles Adams. James is both the founder of Tech Educators and a partner in Akcela, with an extensive history in a 22bn turnover US multi-national corporation. James' passion for start-up life saw him move away from corporate employment and begin supporting the start-up ecosystem here in Norwich. James' blend of intelligence and fun supports early stage entrepreneurs break through the initial nerves of starting their business, navigate the pitfalls and keep their "why" burning with passion. We're lucky to have James as part of Akcela and the Norwich eco-system, and if you're at Sync this weekend, keep an eye out for what James' team achieves!

What makes a start-up scene thrive? An abundance of coffee and a little bit of sugar to help founders push through the day and succeed! At the incubator, we'll often take 5 with the founders so that they can regroup their thoughts, bounce ideas and establish next steps. We're always looking for new ideas and founders to chat with, so why not book a coffee with the team and help make your business a unicorn. Email toby@akcela.co.uk to book in a meeting

An incredible DevelopHER Awards in the books, showcasing the incredible talent of the East of England's female tech community. We were very lucky to go along with the Tech Educators team, TheVampiresManor (TVM) and Glowfrog Games. It was a fantastic ceremony with some excellent award acceptance speeches that will inspire the next generation of women in tech. Special mentions must go to the winners Akcela have been supporting over the last six months: Kate Killick (Games dev), Morrigan Pickford (Emerging talent) and Jessica Keen (Innovation). It was a real full circle moment to see Katie Snell awarding Morrigan the Emerging Talent award due to all the support we've received from Suffolk County Council, Norfolk County Council and Connected Innovation that has allowed us to support and nurture future stars of the industry. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Exited founders, with focused support, that ensures startups get traction, get to funding, get moving and make it happen. That's what separates an #incubator from office space. We couldn't support organisations such as Moss Monkey Games make the leap from Norwich University of the Arts to a company with funding, and a team making it happen, without the support of Norfolk County Council, Suffolk County Council, Connected Innovation and Barclays Eagle Labs - we wouldn't be able to support the number of startups we can today. Thank you as always to our long term partners Ashtons Legal LLP, TBLA Ltd | Certified B Corp and Adaptavist.
