What’s the worst that can happen when playing tennis? 🎾 With Wimbledon starting this week we thought we’d take a look at our archive to see the types of tennis related claims our historic companies used to get. Well, alongside the usual slips and trips, including a clergyman who fell over a dog while playing tennis, we also found a claim for an AMPUTATED LEG in 1889! 😲 But it’s not all about tennis related injury claims. We also have alumni who played tennis at a very high level, including Sir Norman Brookes who won Wimbledon in 1907. Sir Norman was better known as ‘The Wizard (of Oz) and was chairman of the Australian board of directors at our heritage company North British and Mercantile. #Wimbledon

✅ Helping young people get ready for the workplace We’ve once again supported the next generation of tech enthusiasts in Perth and Kinross with our Technology Work Placements for S3 and S4 students. Based at Pitheavlis, the week-long placement for students in May, encouraged them to fully immerse themselves in working life at Aviva, exploring various roles in areas such as cyber, risk and claims, and learning valuable transferable skills in communication and teamwork. Dhruva, an S3 student on the Aviva placement in Perth, said: “This week was really fun, educational, and helped me understand what working in a real business is like.” While Milan, said: “It was an awesome week and definitely one of the more memorable of my life.
