We are so pleased to have supported Network Rail and Lampada Digital Solutions Limited in winning the Rail Team of the Year award at the Rail Staff Awards recently for the Freight Loads Book Digitisation project. As part of our Change and Project Management for the Freight Safety Improvement Programme (FSIP), we have helped deliver numerous improvements to freight safety across the UK. 🔊 Project managers aren’t using enough AI. You should get ahead of the pack! AI is everywhere, especially on LinkedIn. But whether you are bull or bear on the industry, AI will undoubtedly change how project managers work – either fundamentally, or at least via dramatically enhanced tooling. There are so many opportunities to start integrating artificial intelligence into your project management activities, and you can start with the tips below: 1️⃣ AI for predictive analytics and risk management: Rather than spending time building PowerBI dashboards and running SQL queries, AI can be a powerful analytics tool that can help anticipate risks before they arise. AI tools can help forecast potential delays or budget overruns, allowing you to spend your time on proactive risk management. 💡 Suggested tool: Forecast 2️⃣ Automate your repetitive tasks to help drive efficiency: Whether it’s scheduling or data entry, automation of repetitive tasks will free up significant time that allows you to focus on the strategic tasks. Using AI for these tasks can also reduce the scope for human error. 💡 Suggested tool: Trello with Butler Bot 3️⃣ Enhance your decision making with AI-based insights: Given AI’s strengths at analysing large and unstructured datasets, you should leverage AI tools to enhance decision-making. With powerful insights, you can ensure that projects are aligned with business goals more effectively and increase your agility and reactiveness in a fast-moving context. 💡 Suggested tool: Zoho Projects with Zia Using AI isn’t just beneficial to your project management performance but is increasingly essential for success in the modern business world. Project managers need to start bringing AI into daily activities so they can free up more time to focus on the strategic picture. Why wait? #FutureOfWork #ProjectManagers Alchemmy

**Happiness** I was reflecting over the weekend and realised that even though - like most of us - my job has its challenges, I am in fact happy at work and it made me consider, what is happiness in the context of work? The definition of happiness from good old Brittanica is “a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences either in a narrow sense, when good things happen in a specific moment, or more broadly, as a positive evaluation of one’s life and accomplishments overall - that is, subjective well-being”. I buy “subjective well-being” as it is after all distinctly personal but given that the current dogma is that happy employees equate to a thriving business, what does that look like? Let’s break it down. When employees feel valued, supported and appreciated, they (most likely) bring their best selves to work every day. That energy has a way of impacting everything, from customer satisfaction to bottom-line growth. Here’s why it pays to invest in employee happiness: Loyalty and Retention: Happy employees are more likely to stick around, reducing turnover and hiring costs. Studies show that companies with high employee satisfaction see a 40% drop in turnover rates. Salesforce is a good example: their emphasis on a positive culture and continuous growth has created a dedicated workforce and a long list of people who want to work there. Productivity Boost: Engaged, happy employees are 17% more productive. My old employer Microsoft found this to be true when they revamped their employee experience with flexible work options, mental health resources, and a focus on work-life balance. Better Customer Experience: Employees who enjoy their work are ~10% more likely to go the extra mile for customers. Southwest Airlines is a great example: their employee-centred culture creates happy teams who deliver consistently great service, helping build engagement with customers and a strong brand reputation. Innovation & Creativity: When people feel good at work, they’re more open to sharing ideas. Companies with high employee satisfaction are 21% more likely to innovate. At Google, where the culture encourages creativity and openness, employees are empowered to pitch ideas and make an impact. Revenue Growth: Companies that invest in employee happiness see an increase in profits of up to 15%. Happy employees are motivated to help the company succeed, creating a positive cycle of success. The bottom line? We might measure 'satisfaction' today, but that feels a little weak sauce IMHO. If happiness is something we all strive for, are we doing enough to create happier working environments and why aren't we using happiness - rather than satisfaction - as a fundamental measure of performance? #EmployeeExperience #HappyEmployees #CustomerService #Innovation #ExperienceTransformation #XT #CustomerExperience #CX #EmployeeExperience #EX #Consulting #Alchemmy Andrew Brandon ;)

Alchemmy recently worked with the Serious Violence Duty Programme Manager at the Office for the Police & Crime Commissioner for Merseyside (OPCCM) to create a tool to view and analyse Serious Violence assets in the Merseyside region. The team built an interactive dashboard and asset directory, allowing users to identify gaps in resource allocation and prioritise future activities and spend.
