Ever heard of fauxductivity? It's a new term for when employees pretend to be busy by exaggerating how much work they have. Often, this involves tasks that don’t really help the business grow or improve profits. Fauxductivity has come into focus as companies like Amazon and Barclays push for employees to return to the office. This connects to a trend known as 'the great detachment,' where workers feel less connected to their jobs and tend to just go through the motions. Recent research shows that while 67% of employees deny faking their activity, 48% of managers consider it a common issue. Want to learn more? As if Google wasn't powerful enough, the tech giant is now turning to nuclear energy to supercharge its AI data centres! Google has signed an agreement with Kairos Power to implement small nuclear reactors. They plan to have their first reactor running by 2030 and to add more by 2035. This move aims to meet the rising energy demands of AI technology while supporting the shift towards clean and reliable energy sources. Before moving forward, the project needs regulatory approval. Nuclear power could provide carbon-free, round-the-clock electricity, but there are still concerns about safety and the long-lasting radioactive waste it produces. Other major companies like Microsoft and Amazon are also looking into nuclear energy to meet their power needs. Discover more here: https://heyor.ca/5AZHCv #AITechnology #TechNews #Google

Would it surprise you to learn that six in ten employees would consider leaving their jobs for better benefits? A recent study shows that only 39% of employees feel their current benefits package provides good value. Benefits like pension contributions and healthcare are becoming increasingly significant in job decisions, with 63% of employees saying these benefits are more important than they used to be when considering new roles. This trend is particularly pronounced among younger workers aged 18-34, where the figure rises to 72%. As salary increases become more challenging amid rising costs, enhancing benefits packages could be a strategic way to attract and retain talent. Have you heard that 83% of UK CEOs believe their companies will fully return to office work within the next three years, according to a recent KPMG study? This is a notable shift from last year, though it contrasts with employee preferences. In fact, 69% of workers say they would consider looking for new roles if required to spend more time in the office. The report also shows that many CEOs plan to reward employees who return to the office, with this figure rising from 56% to 81% in the past year. However, experts caution that strict office mandates could affect diversity and inclusion, especially for employees with caregiving responsibilities or disabilities.
