We are sure many of the legal community will agree with Nigel. As you can imagine, the Paris Arbitration Week #London to #Paris cycle ride is constantly mentioned in our office! 🥱🥱🥱 However, you can’t deny, it’s for a crucial cause and supports Save the Children International’s mission: - To ensure that no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday - To ensure that all children have access to a quality basic education - To ensure that violence against children is no longer tolerated - To ensure that children have the right to survival, protection, development, and participation Our CEO, Owen Lawrence has promised the rest of the team, that he won’t mention the ride again, if he hits his sponsorship target - please help us too and give as little or as much as you can! #internationalarbitration #MAMIL #charity #arbitration https://lnkd.in/ejMndBjr

Delighted to share this post from Paul Sills. We look forward to the event in March being hosted by WilmerHale
Join us in our London office on March 12 at 6:30 p.m. for “Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts in International Arbitration,” where a distinguished panel of in-house counsel and arbitrators will explore how legal backgrounds influence contract interpretation in international arbitration. This event is part of a global series of workshops supporting an empirical research project led by Professor Giuditta Cordero-Moss from the University of Oslo. The project aims to investigate whether international contracts are interpreted uniformly in arbitration and the extent to which legal backgrounds influence their interpretation. In addition to the discussion, the event will also include a reception and a Q&A session with the speakers, who include: • Giuditta Cordero-Moss (Moderator, Panelist, Professor | Faculty of Law, University of Oslo) • Marleen Krueger (Partner | WilmerHale) • Kai-Uwe Karl (Global Chief Litigation Counsel | GE Renewable Energy) • André Tan Oh (Legal Manager | CSN - Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional) • Paul Sills (Independent Mediator, Independent Arbitrator | Arbitra International) • Dr Gregory Travaini (Legal Manager, Head of Legal Transversal Team | ENGIE) To register, please visit the link below.

The International Arbitration Supper Club (IASC) marked a milestone this week, hosting its first-ever event during Riyadh International Disputes Week (#RIDW). A huge thank you to Fatima Balfaqeeh (FCIArb C.Arb, MRICS, FCIPS) for her firms generous hospitality and for selecting the breathtaking Bab Samhan, a Luxury Collection Hotel in #Diriyah - a truly unforgettable venue. We were honored to hear from Dr. Saud Al-Ammari Law Firm, whose call to rid arbitration of “jargon monoxide” sparked thought-provoking discussions. This evening also set a new Royal standard for IASC as we welcomed our first HRH Princess, and numerous Excellencies’ making it a truly special gathering. The night concluded with a private guided tour of historic Diriyah Fort, adding a unique cultural dimension to an already exceptional event.
