  • 🎄12 Days of Christmas: 12 steps to recovery. One of the ABF’s key priorities is to provide soldiers, veterans and their families with the means to live independently. We are pleased to award SIA a grant of £42,000 to ensure that members of the Army family living with a spinal cord injury are provided with the best methods for treatment and access to reintegration services. • 🎄12 Days of Christmas: Ten years of walking the frontlines. This year, one of our flagship events, the Frontline Walk, has celebrated 10 years since it’s launch in 2014. Walkers have gathered to commemorate the fallen at three different locations: Pyrenees, Normandy Beaches and Western Front. The Normandy Beaches walk was particularly poignant, as we marked 80 years since the D-Day landings as well as our charity’s own 80th anniversary. Join us next year to take on 100km across Normandy, Western Front or Crete (a brand new route!: https://lnkd.in/etDg7wek #ForSoldiersForLife #12DaysOfChristmas

  • 🎄12 days of Christmas: Eight decades of support. This year, our charity celebrated 80 years of service to the Army family. Since our formation in 1944 with HM King George VI as Patron and Field Marshal Lord Cavan as President, our promise and purpose has remained unchanged: to ensure every soldier, past, present and future, can avoid hardship and live with independence and dignity. #ForSoldiersForLife

I had a lovely trip to London recently to enjoy the wonderful Army Carol Service put on by the Army Benevolent Fund at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, and it was a real treat. The Army Benevolent Fund does such great work for active and retired members of the Army and their families, and this uplifting event raises much-needed money and publicity for their efforts.   Clogau was pleased to continue its fundraising for the charity this year with the sale of our Remembrance Day poppy pin badges. We donate all the proceeds from these badges to the ABF, and this year, thanks to the generosity of our customers, we raised an incredible £55,000. I met with the charity’s Chief Executive, Major General Tim Hyams (pictured), and Head of High Value Relationships Daniel Jones at the carol service and they asked me to pass on their thanks and tell everyone who contributed that the funds will be a great help; the ABF supported 75,000 people in the last financial year and their work never stops.   I look forward to furthering Clogau’s support for this most worthwhile cause with the help of our loyal customers, who respond so admirably each year.
