It's always a pleasure working with the students and staff. See you again soon.
Before Christmas break, students at Sutherland House School had the opportunity to take part in valuable work experience. Sneinton Community CIC needed some assistance in getting ready for Christmas. Students assisted with: 🍂 Clearing the outside grounds 📸 Taking photos and videos for social media 💡 Preparing and putting up Christmas lights and decorations The Community Centre looked stunning and we're so grateful that our students were invited to get involved. If you have any work experience opportunities that you can offer our students, we'd love to hear from you! Email our Careers Lead at farheen.khan@aem.org.uk

Merry Christmas to all our amazing service users, staff, partners, communities, donors, supporters, families, carers and anyone else that has shown their support for us this year! 🎄 Thank you for contributing to another fantastic year for Autism East Midlands, and we can't wait to share what we've been cooking up for 2025. Wishing you all a wonderful festive season!

Deck the halls! 🎄 Our Sherwood Centre have been dressing up and getting festive ahead of Christmas. We're huge fans of the Santa hats and the holiday jumpers, but the most important thing is making sure that the pressures of the holidays don't affect our service users. Everyone wears what they want to and can take part in as much or as little Christmas traditions as they are comfortable with. ✨

We're so proud of our student Emelie, who attends our Sutherland House School and was chosen for work experience at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. Emelie has a keen interest in costume design and fashion, so she joined their Wardrobe department and was involved in the redesign of one of Gok Wan's costumes. She even got to meet the man himself. Over two days, Emelie was given a behind-the-scenes look at theatre life and the hard work that goes on backstage to make the magic happen. Huge thanks to Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Nottingham and all other organisations who come forward and offer work experience to our young people. It makes a life-shaping difference for students like Emelie.

Ross Levy will be marking his 30th birthday by running in the London Marathon in support of Autism East Midlands. He'll be joined by his mum, Katie, who turns 60 next year. Both Ross and his mum plan on training over the winter months for the marathon, and Ross is also planning to host quiz nights to raise money ahead of the big day.
