We urgently need your help… Stepping Stones, our reception-age class, is missing a vital piece of play equipment. During the October half-term, their climbing frame was removed after falling into disrepair. It was a lovely piece of equipment which supported our students to focus and regulate their emotions, through the power of play. We now have the opportunity to build a better playground for the class and the children who will join Stepping Stones in the future. We need to raise £25,582 to replace the climbing frame which is the first step in a longer project to update the whole play space. We’re calling on our community to help deliver a very important Christmas wish for our youngest students by donating, fundraising and spreading awareness of our appeal. How can you help? • Make a donation and ask 3 friends to donate too instead of giving Christmas presents • Share our appeal with your friends, family and colleagues • Speak to your workplace/or local business about how they can support Donations can be made to our JustGiving page: https://buff.ly/4gaqN7e #AllIWantForChristmas #PlaygroundAppeal #AutismSupport #FundraisingAppeal #Community #GivingBack #Education

🎄 This Christmas, we have a special wish – to build a magical playground space that our youngest students deserve. The children at Stepping Stones bring so much joy and energy to the school and we are committed to creating the best environment where they can thrive. They love being outdoors, playing, and exploring their environment, but they’re missing an essential part of their playground since their climbing frame was removed after falling into disrepair. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to delivering their Christmas wish. You can help us by sharing the appeal and donating to our JustGiving page: https://buff.ly/49jfpnj Image description: Three individual students sat by a sign which asks Santa for a new climbing frame for their playground. #AllIWantForChristmas #PlaygroundAppeal #AutismSupport #FundraisingAppeal #Community #GivingBack #Education

We joined BBC Radio Solent and Hope FM to discuss our Christmas Fundraising Appeal for our reception-age class, Stepping Stones. Anna Hewitt, Headteacher at Portfield School, highlighted the need for a climbing frame to aid our students' regulation and urged the community to support this important fundraiser. It's wonderful to see the staff at Bournemouth Airport engaging with #Signalong training, enabling them to better support customers with different communication needs. #Inclusion #Neurodiversity #AutismAcceptance
✈️ We took off to Bournemouth Airport this week to deliver a session of Signalong training. 20 attendees from the special assistance, check in and security teams trained up on Signalong as part of the airport's growth plan. Signalong is a fantastic communication tool which can support staff in customer-facing roles to improve accessibility and inclusion for individuals with different communication styles. The group showed great enthusiasm, fully engaging with the hands-on and interactive exercises over the course of the day. We have various workshops and training events designed to help organisations embrace neurodiversity and inclusion. Visit our events calendar: https://buff.ly/3J19HL7 or get in touch to find out more. Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the The Royal Marines Christmas Spectacular at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre. 🥁 🎶 Our volunteers supported with selling programmes at the start of the evening, before collecting donations for Autism Unlimited as the night came to a close. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and everyone who generously donated, we raised an incredible £1,065.06. It was true festive splendour. 👏 Image descriptions: A group of our volunteers and the band masters by our stand, plus an image of the performance on stage. #RoyalMarinesBand #Fundraising #Volunteering #GivingBack #Donations #Community

We spent a brilliant morning at AFC Bournemouth, discussing the importance of supporting neurodiversity in the workplace. A big thank you to Bond Williams Professional Recruitment for inviting us to share our insights alongside ViewHR. Becs, Claire, Josh and Mimi shared their inspiring lived experiences, emphasising how understanding and adjustments have supported them to thrive in the workplace, and reinforcing the need for inclusive environments. It was great to impart our knowledge and expertise to a room full of HR professionals wanting to make a difference. Our key takeaways were: 🌟 Simple, low-cost adjustments can make a big difference 🌟 It's essential to create an environment where employees feel comfortable to have these discussions 🌟 Training for managers is key to nurturing a supportive culture Thanks to everyone who attended and engaged in these enlightening discussions.
