This week we're handing the account over to our amazing new intern Marie Anne Moore .. 👀 How writing for a blog helped me start in this industry. 💡 I’ve been writing for the charity Latin Girls At Work’s blog for about 2 years now and I’d definitely say this experience has helped me start in the PR and comms industry. Practically, writing for the blog helped me to transition from the rigid, academic style of writing I was used to, to a more creative style that works better in this industry. Plus, I have accumulated communications skills that are also helpful after having to approach people for interviews. 🔊 But most of all I would say writing for the blog has ensured I still have my humanity. I have had to put myself in other people’s shoes in order to properly and respectfully convey their stories, but also do justice to my own story when I’ve written about myself. 🌍 I think empathy and compassion is crucial if you want to have any kind of impact on a brand’s audience. I’ve found that I am able to demonstrate this value quite naturally when I have to speak about my motivations for joining this industry, which I know has come from the confidence writing for the blog has given me. 💚 Finally, pride in my heritage has only increased from this experience. Career-wise, but also just generally, my main motivator is increasing Latin American representation in the UK and I have no doubt my cultural experiences are an asset to this industry. ‼️

The beauty industry needs to step up! Despite Black women accounting for 10% of hair care spending in the UK, the demographic is largely ignored. ❌ Last week, TreasureTress founder and innovator Jamelia Donaldson, spoke to Vogue Business about how ‘The Dire State of Black Beauty Threatens The Entire Industry’, highlighting that there are few brands who cater to Black Women. Treasure Tress, Europe's largest hair subscription box, recently launched a first of its kind beauty advent calendar catering to textured-and-curly hair, already landing a full page feature in Cosmopolitan. 💓 To read the article just follow the link here - https://lnkd.in/eMwpik23

In true autumn fashion, we hosted an intimate candle-lit cheese and wine evening with Ace & Tate in celebration of their AW24 The Tateman’s collection. 🔥 It was a beautiful evening, celebrating design through community, cheese and cheers 🥂

With Trans Awareness Week drawing to a close tomorrow we wanted to shine a light on our recent campaign with Mermaids & Bleecker Street (company) ❗ As you'll have seen in our previous post we sat down with Mermaid's community to celebrate Trans Awareness Week and reclaiming the colour pink. One of the many speaking points was the importance of corporate support, in this instance, Bleecker is donating £1 of every milkshake sold back to Mermaids. Authentic connections are easily formed when your intentions come from the right place. Here you can see Benedict explaining just why partnerships such as this are important. I’m so incredibly proud of this campaign. 💙 💗 Behind the scenes we've been working with both BLEECKER and Mermaids to produce content for Trans Awareness Week and the outcome is nothing short of incredible. When we kicked off working with Bleecker Burger, we were told about their new Cherry Shake where £1 of every shake sold would be donated to Mermaid's charity. One of the things I love about working at purpose-led agency is that we always push to do more for the communities we collab with. In this case Mermaids and the work they do in the trans community, was something we immediately knew we could amplify in a way that only we could. 💙 we elevated the partnership by switching up the narrative when it comes to trans representation in the media 💗 we doubled down on the assets we had available - a milkshake that looked pink… 💙 so, we put an ask out to their community - what does the colour pink mean to you? The answers echoed the importance of listening properly and reminded me why you should always lead with a human first approach. Lord knows we bang on about it enough. Fast forward to now - we’re releasing a first ever for both brands - an intergenerational, intimate conversation between Mermaid and MANGO's (Mermaids Advocacy Network Group Online) communities around reclaiming the colour pink. This is has been one the most impactful and insightful projects I've been able to work on to date and we're now pushing to make sure as many people get to see it as possible. Have popped a clip below and link to the full video here - enjoy! https://lnkd.in/eCyeEkzh

Have you ever had to choose between work + spending time with your child? 💻 🍼 Well that’s the reality for many working parents living in England - the cost of childcare has been a big topic over the past few months, but flexibility is a key catalyst in this conversation. In fact, UK staff would give up 8.2% of pay to work from home 2-3 days. Ann-Marie Kinlock saw the gap in the childcare sector and decided to create a solution centered around mums. KindHaus is more than a coworking space + creche (with good coffee) but a lifeline for parents, who can book childcare as easy as booking a slot at the gym! The conversation needs to evolve to put mothers first - as the saying goes happy mum, happy baby. More to come soon... Read Ann-Marie’s story below ⬇ https://lnkd.in/eYV8_c79
