Ok. We’ve had enough. Fake family offices, your time’s up.   There’s an epidemic of false representation in the family office space. All genuine family offices know about this elephant in the room, so many funds and founders too. Too many people call themselves a family office when they are not, hiding behind “privacy” in order to obfuscate their actual role and intentions so they can get in the room or round the table with genuine wealth holders. Today we are launching the AYU Approved Family Office Program, so we can continue to work in this incredible space, but with trust as a prerequisite. We’re inviting all family offices to apply for the program - free of charge and obligation. You don’t even need an AYU membership. We’ll be: - Carrying out in depth verification on all family offices that apply - or that want to engage with us, our events or our community. - Highlighting and flagging to our community anyone who misrepresents themselves as a family office. - In time, providing a free resource for anyone to check if a family office has AFO status Our definition of what a family office actually is and how to apply are in the link below. And yes, we know there’s a spectrum of opinion on definition here, but we have to draw a line in the sand somewhere! The AYU Oktoberfest transformed Ranelagh Gardens into a lively celebration, bringing AYU members and guests from the alts industry together for an unforgettable evening of music, food, and camaraderie. Our recent Family Office Summit brought over 100 select family offices together for a unique day of connection and discovery in London. Set in our bespoke tipi village in the grounds of the auspicious Royal Hospital Chelsea, the event featured cozy lounges, bustling meeting rooms, and a main stage where we heard from thought leaders throughout the day. Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by celebrity chef Benedict Quin, along with blazing fires, ample opportunity for organic connection, and networking drinks. Bespoke one-on-one meetings, based on investment interest, were curated throughout the day by our new AYU Capital Concierge service. GPs from across the range of alts fund strategies, plus direct investment deals, were represented in our strictly-limited number of non-FO guest spots.
