We're now less than three weeks away from the Babble Ride Across Britain. On Saturday 7th September, 800 cyclists, will set off from Land's End, taking on 980-miles of Britain's most iconic scenery across 9 days, before finishing the challenge in John O'Groats on 15th September. Babble's team, affectionately known as the Babble RABble, will be taking part, tackling climbs such as Cheddar Gorge, Cothelstone Hill, The Devil's Beef Tub, and experiencing the incredible views of the Cornish landscape, the hills and valleys of Northern England and the Scottish Highlands. Why are we doing this? We have one goal in mind. To fundraise for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. This year, we have committed to fundraise £250k to support them in their goal of A World Free of MND. 1 in 300 people will be affected by Motor Neuron Disease in their lifetime. On Sunday 1 December, we hosted the St Martin-in-the-Fields, London Christmas Appeal which raised a total of £112,000. In a year which has seen 360,000 households in England approach their local council for help with homelessness, a 10% increase from last year, your donations will have a significant impact on supporting those who need a secure, safe place to call home. The Babble team were delighted to join the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation at the first ever 745 Game at Headingley Stadium on Sunday 17th November in tribute to Rugby League legend, Rob Burrow CBE. The 745 Game was developed by Rob and former Leicester and Gloucester Rugby Union player, Ed Slater, two friends facing the battle of MND, before Rob passed away in June this year. Ed continued to develop the idea, a game which brings rugby legends together with a blend of League and Union rules, in tribute to Rob.
