In wonderful #Wales last week, supporting a wide range of UK and wider European businesses making the most of the tremendous investment opportunities across the country and delivering joy and jobs as they do so. 🇬🇧 Huge thanks to 👇 🌍 Sandvik Osprey (Sweden) – multinational engineering company producing atomised powder metallurgy and advanced materials in Neath, with a huge portfolio of customised speciality alloys for applications in space, defence, transport, communications, micro-metal injection moulding and more. 💧 Statkraft (Norway) – Europe’s largest renewable energy producer, great to visit their Rheidol Hydropower Plant (and associated fish farm) with Norwegian Ambassador to UK, Tore Hattrem, underlining our shared commitment to sustainable energy and flourishing trade. ⛓️ Kiernan Steel (Ireland) – producing bespoke steel parts for foundations, structures and cladding in factories, data centres, stadia, warehouses, bridges and more, based in Llandrindod Wells. 💡 AberInnovation Campus – accelerating food and drink, circular economy and agri-tech innovation through close collaboration of Aberystwyth University academics and dynamic businesses large and small. 🍗 Dunbia Group (Ireland) – one of Europe’s leading food processing companies supplying quality beef, lamb, and poultry to multiple UK brands including Tesco, Sainsburys, Lidl, McDonalds & many more: if you’re a meat eater, chances are you will enjoy a variety of their delicious products this festive season. 🔒 BCB International Ltd (UK) – developing and delivering marine, defence, outdoor/camping and humanitarian aid equipment focused on life-saving and protective equipment for those working in challenging environments across the world, from their sites in Cardiff and Llanelli.   An absolute pleasure to witness such depth and breadth of business excellence across Wales, to encourage further UK-Europe trade and investment from these great companies, and to spend time with tremendous colleagues from DBT Wales & Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government who work day-in, day-out to support thriving Welsh business with Europe and beyond. 🤝   (And also a lovely reminder of a superb holiday back in the summer in the stunning Gower Peninsula: if you haven’t visited, you have a treat in store…) #Wales #UK #UKInvestment #UKTrade #Europe

  • Here at BCB International Ltd we strive to innovate and create high quality products to help save lives and protect the protectors. This core belief system does not just relate to Body Armour and helmets, but also on a much more elementary level such as the products used by those on the frontlines and in disaster zones around the world. We believe FireDragon is one of the best representations of this. Katie Reichwald, BCB's chemist, who works with FireDragon daily has been researching the emerging gap in the market for a more sustainable fuel and how FireDragon has fit this gap perfectly since its creation in 2013. Every day we are seeing more and more countries commit to a healthy, safer and more sustainable future both for the world and the users. Firedragon is a perfect solution to fill this gap in the market, at least we certainly think so, but we will leave it up to make up your minds after reading her report and research into the matter and would love to hear your thoughts on FireDragon and ways to help save lives.

  • His Majesty's Trade Commissioner for Europe, Chris Barton CMG, met with Andrew Howell, Managing Director, and Emi Howell, the Head of EU Defence Sales, at BCB International Ltd. in Cardiff yesterday. The morning consisted of a demonstration of BCB’s unique FireDragon fuel and it’s safe, sustainable and environmentally-friendly ability and its capacity to fill a emerging gap in Europe. Before inspecting the Dragon-15 UAV and meeting with Pete B. to discuss BCB's Multi-Spectral Camouflage solutions and their versatility to suit any situation, Mr. Barton also met with various BCB team members, including Chelsea Williams on the procurement team, to discuss the GPSR and the UK Procurement Act. The morning concluded with Mr. Barton joining BCB’s packing team on the line to pack a Winter Warmer survival kit under the watchful eye of Sarah Putlick. These kits will be delivered to those struggling with the cold this winter, at home and across the world. BCB’s CANEI policy is our driving force for adaptability & innovation and today’s meeting was an insightful and informative opportunity to share BCB’s capabilities with Mr. Barton and his team.

  • Our first two winners for Adnan Haddadi's 12 Days of Christmas Tombola! Our 1st winner was Gavin who is a part of our Transport Team and our 2nd day was won by Stephanie Frieze-Davies our Global Marine Manager! Looking forward to finding out who wins on the Third Day of Christmas, today! December is our final month of BCB's new initiative that was introduced this year, where team members nominate charities they care about and have a designated month to raise money for their charity. This was instead of having one annual charity that might not represent everyone at the company, and we could not be prouder of the teams work at raising awareness and money and coming up with some fantastic events throughout the year! Adnan chose for his month to raise money and awareness for Lord's Taverners. Lord's Taverners create many opportunities for young disabled people and those from deprived areas to engage in sports and recreational activities in their local communities. Their programs support some of the most marginalised and at-risk young people in the UK. You can find more information about Lord's Taverners using the following link: https://lnkd.in/e4fX9ZvG #12daysofChristmas #Charity #LordsTaverners

• Today marks the 1,000th day since Russia invaded Ukraine. Over six million refugees, thousands of Ukrainian citizens dead and frequent missile and drone attacks; this is Europe's biggest conflict since World War Two. In 2023, Keir Starmer, along with Stephen Doughty and Jo Stevens visited BCB International Ltd, and met with our team and Ukrainian staff who have been working to ensure that lifesaving survival products are reaching the frontline. “Whatever other political divides there are in the UK, we stand united in our support of Ukraine. Putin must be defeated in Ukraine.” – Keir Starmer, 2023, BCB BCB will continue to support those on the frontlines, defending Ukraine, as well as those caught in the crossfire. Our aim is to protect the protectors and help save lives of those in extreme conditions, and never has it been more important, than on this, the 1,000th day to remember those who continue to fight in the frozen trenches and the burning steppes for the right to live.
