So the best thing to do is understand and guard against them…let’s find out how DNS poisoning attacks work… DNS translates website names (domains) into IP addresses (a bit like phone numbers for computers), and this allows your browser to find and load the website you want to visit. The poisoning part happens when an attacker manipulates the DNS to give you the wrong IP address, so instead of reaching the right website, you might be directed to a fake one where attackers are ready and waiting to steal your login info. Usernames, passwords, Mum’s maiden name – it’s all at risk! 😭 So what can you do about it? 🤔 • Stay Updated: Make sure your DNS servers are regularly patched. • Use DNS-Sec: This advanced encryption standard protects DNS records from any unauthorised changes. • Be Vigilant: Check for broken HTTPS certificates or anything that seems a bit off on a webpage as these are often signs of DNS poisoning.
