Jim has been with Betts for 18 years. Where do we start? As a Chartered Engineer through the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Jim has many successful residential, commercial and industrial projects under his belt. There are too many projects to mention, but let's just say he's well travelled. When Jim isn't working, he's a keen cyclist, even taking his bike to the Canary Islands. We can only aspire to have your wealth of knowledge, Jim!

An honour to be part of the renovation of Theatr Clwyd. A stunning new building, certainly no rotten tomatoes will be thrown when the curtains open! We completed the new structural design for the much-loved cultural hotspot. #NorthWales #Building #Construction

Megan Jackson is PA to our Chairman Mel Frimston and Managing Director Rob Ankers. Over the past four years, Megan has supported with all areas of Betts' services, from flood risk to structural engineering. Having started her Betts journey as a part-time receptionist while a student, Megan explored what the world of work offered her; that even included a stint in Australia! We were delighted to welcome Megan back to Betts four years ago, where she continues to progress, having recently been promoted. Thanks for everything you do Megan.

Last week, members of our team had the opportunity to attend an insightful The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) event focused on a major stadium redevelopment project in Manchester. The morning featured a project overview presentation, followed by a tour highlighting the engineering design and construction management challenges involved in delivering a project of this scale. A fascinating look at the complexities behind such an ambitious development! Thank you to Jack Bennion MCIOB and Bee Younis for organising another great event. Looking forward to the next one! #construction #engineering

This week we celebrated Engineering Technician Tom's 21st. He was on annual leave for his actual birthday but we made sure to celebrate it on his return. Happy Birthday Tom Russell! #employeecelebration #engineering

Our team does a lot of travelling, but we're proud of where we're based. Located in Deeside, our office has great transport links, including cycling lanes. And the attractive rural setting is certainly a bonus. https://lnkd.in/d-6ZFzCD

Over the past month, the team has been donating to our foodbank collection. We're filled with pride seeing so many get into the spirit. Thanks to them, we have donated 127kg of food and goods to Flintshire Foodbank. It certainly won't be the last donation we make.

A clear but cold day on site at Poulton-le-Fylde, working with Story Homes and Romark Groundworks LTD We were asked to supervise a two part foundation dig to ensure foundation depths account for tree influence. A pleasure to play our part.

We have more exciting team news for you today. We announced earlier this week about some changes amongst our board – but who do you think really keeps things on an even keel? 😆 As Mel Frimston said on announcing this news “Chaos coordinators bring order to the madness.” Laila Morris is promoted to Practice Manager, a title that goes nowhere near describing her many roles and duties. Megan Jackson becomes PA to Mel Frimston who has this week taken on the role of Chair and our newly promoted managing director Rob Ankers. Well done to Laila and Megan – your promotions are both very well deserved.
