Hickorys Smokehouse in West Kirby boasts an interior design that transports guests to the heart of the American South with its rustic charm and Southern hospitality. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the warm glow of Edison bulb lighting and the rich aroma of hickory smoke wafting from the open kitchen. The space is adorned with reclaimed wood accents, distressed leather furnishings, and vintage signage, creating an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional smokehouse. Continuing through the space, diners discover cozy booth seating nestled beneath exposed wooden beams, providing an intimate setting for enjoying Hickorys' signature barbecue fare. The star of the show is the year round garden room, reminiscent of south carolina verandahs and Louisiana porches. The design pays homage to the restaurant's roots and the road trip the founders did before opening the very first Hickorys Smokehouse, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience that appeals to both locals and visitors alike. The Nest at Bainland Lodge Retreats✨ We had the pleasure of working on this secret haven, and fell in love with the romantic lakeside hot tub lodges, luxury safari tents, as well as state of the art designer family villas, complete with impeccable interiors and a glorious private pools. In comparison, the food and beverage offer was severely lacking and just did not marry-up with the resort experience.😍 The restaurant offers a bistro-inspired menu perfect for the varying day-parts. The layout and variety of seating areas have been designed with this in mind; with areas for lounging coffee mornings and family dining occasions alike. The bar and the open kitchen are very much the heart of the design, with service and theatre at the forefront, highlighting that the restaurant is not style over substance.
