Bradford is UK City of Culture 2025. Bradford has been named as UK City of Culture 2025. In May 2022, live on BBC The One Show, Bradford was announced as winner of the UK City of Culture 2025 title. Bradford district’s year of culture is set to deliver more than 1,000 new performances and events including 365 artist commissions, a series of major arts festivals and major national and international collaborations. Bradford’s history of fierce independence and of progressive social reform and its spectacular cultural heritage offer a powerful launchpad for a UK City of Culture celebration in 2025 that could only happen in Bradford.

We're (wheelie) excited to announce that First Bus is now an Official Travel Partner of Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture! 🚍 First Bus drivers will be acting as our unofficial ambassadors, helping passengers as they board buses and giving advice to millions of residents and visitors in Bradford next year: “As bus drivers we’ll be doing the work we do every day. We’ll have many visitors getting on the buses and we’ll be making sure they go to the right places for the attractions on offer.” “I’ve grown up in Bradford, lived in Bradford all my life. Apply now for our Social Prescribing Awards! 🎨 As part of our brand-new Creative Health programme, we’re launching awards to empower artists, researchers, community groups, and organisations in Bradford District and Craven to use arts and culture to tackle health challenges. There are two tiers of award available: · 8 Medium-Sized Awards of up to £30,000 for partnership projects delivering medium-scale activity. · 18 Small Awards of up to £6,000, for smaller projects. In collaboration with Bradford 2025, Historic England has announced new funding for four creative youth-led projects to take place next year as part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture programme! The History in the Making programme aims to improve young people’s wellbeing, from increasing connection to and pride in their local place, to gaining skills and social confidence. Twenty-one grants of up to £15k, a total of £261k in funding, will fund projects across the country, starting in January 2025. Check it out 👇
