Hannah has hope running through her veins, and we are proud to share her story in opening our #MonthOfHope. As a young mum in her 30s, and a dance and fitness teacher, she was healthy and energetic with no idea that anything was wrong until the day she had a seizure. Life changed in an instant. Since her diagnosis in September she has been through an awake craniotomy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, as well as researching everything possible to help healing. Life for her whole family has changed, but what hasn’t changed is Hannah’s positivity and resolve to fight, to heal, and to help others as she does so. On New Year’s Eve she completed a big step on her treatment plan. In her own words: 🌈 ☁️ I RANG THE BELL ON New Year’s Eve 🔔 6 weeks, 30 radiotherapy sessions, 42 tmz chemo tablets, and this part of my treatment is now done. Yesterday also marked two months since my awake brain surgery ✨ All you need is hope. And I have a bucket load. ❤️ Read Hannah’s inspiring story and follow her on her socials – https://lnkd.in/ewaQjDgM Let’s spread the hope that is Hannah! #MonthOfHope #BrainTumourSupport #TogetherWeAreStronger #HopeInAction #braintumourcommunity #braintumour

Nearing the end of our #countdownto2025, we are paying tribute today to support that has literally crossed the world and connected family between England and Australia. We have been giving support to Matt Siddon and his family following his dad’s glioblastoma diagnosis in May 2023. Matt explained, ‘For the last year, I have been mourning the death of a man who is still alive. It is the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing that I think about before I go to sleep. I needed to talk to somebody to unload my thoughts and get this off my chest so I contacted the Brain Tumour Support group for help. ‘This advice has helped me to share my feelings with the people that love and care about me, and in turn has lightened the load and made what is a really tough situation more manageable.’ Wanting to give something back and help others in a similar situation, Matt started a fundraiser in June this year and he has already raised two thirds of his big £3,600 target. https://lnkd.in/eciM6kTm Then in November, from across the world came the support of Matt’s step-brother, Adam Spiers. With two friends, Dan and Sam, he took on an epic challenge - a 100km (62.1 miles) ultra marathon around Melbourne, Australia, whilst fundraising for Brain Tumour Support and St Cuthbert’s Hospice (Dan’s chosen charity). They not only smashed their challenge but raised an incredible £7,100 to split between the charities. We have been so touched to see this fundraising and family support across the miles and so, before the sun goes down on 2024 in Australia, this is a special thank you to both Matt and Adam for inspiring us and showing that, even at a distance, #TogetherWeAreStronger! ❤️💙 #BrainTumourSupport #supportmatters #braintumourawareness #fundraising

It has been wonderful this year to see so many people connecting through our support groups, and today’s #Countdownto2025 is a focus on everyone who makes that possible ❤️ From our own support team, wonderful CNSs who often support and attend the regional groups, local group venues and their staff, and fabulous support volunteers like Kimberley, who is living with a brain tumour herself. Kimberley’s volunteering commitment this year has enabled our Stoke-on-Trent support group to now meet every month. She says ‘Support groups are just so good at giving that mix of information, shared experience and simple human contact with people who truly understand our biggest fears and worries. It has made so much difference to me staying positive, despite what I'm going through, and part of that is wanting to help others along their journeys too.’ Support groups are unique and special in the power they have to connect people going through similar experiences. We look forward to forging many more of those special connections in the year ahead. https://lnkd.in/eM9_J39n #BrainTumourSupport #supportmatters #braintumourawareness #supportgroup #TogetherWeAreStronger

Regular givers are so often the unsung heroes of charity giving. The commitment that our regular givers show means such a lot to us and plays a vital role in helping us to continue our life changing work. Being able to predict and have assurance in our income is the only way that we can continue to deliver the best possible support for people when they need it most. Jean has supported us with a monthly donation since 2018. She knows the impact that a brain tumour has on the whole family. “I sadly lost my husband Mick to a brain tumour in 2010 less than a year after he was given the diagnosis. Unfortunately, we were not aware of Brain Tumour Support at the time but once I discovered the incredible support they give I wanted to help ensure other families receive the support we needed by giving a monthly gift.” Regular donations of just a few pounds each month can make the world of difference, and today we say a huge thank you to all of our regular donors who continue to support us through the year ❤️💙 Find out more about regular giving on our website: https://lnkd.in/euzbHqcR #BrainTumourSupport #supportmatters #braintumourawareness #countdownto2025 #TogetherWeAreStronger #regulargiving

#6 in our #countdownto2025 is a big thanks to the families and communities who come together and give so much support throughout the year. Charity events that are organised not only raise crucial funds but also show incredible love and support for the people facing the challenges that a brain tumour brings. To every person who has been involved in organising or contributing to a community fundraising event this year, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You demonstrate so clearly the truth of our motto that 'Together we are stronger' ❤️💙❤️ #BrainTumourSupport #supportmatters #braintumourawareness #countdownto2025 #TogetherWeAreStronger
