Updates

  • *We have a Biscuit Barrel turnaround this Spring with two new members joining the community, whilst we bid farewell to Calum Campbell-Coles as he continues on his freelance journey.* Calum joined us at a pivotal moment in his career, and we were delighted to provide support as he transitioned to becoming an independent business owner. While we celebrate his onward journey from our studio, it's not really goodbye. Calum has relocated next door to our friends at Dell Anno Studio, where he's diving into exciting digital partnerships and a new studio experience. We're thrilled to see him continue to thrive, and we look forward to future collaborations! ✨ Also, we are pleased to introduce Amie Mc and Kays James to the Biscuit barrel, bringing vision and strategy to our creativity community. Amie's skills lie in curated content creation to drive engagement and business-building results. Kays has beautiful vision and challenges concepts to create dynamic and meaningful creative solutions. Both talented ladies are embarking on a new journey as independent creatives and the Biscuiteers are excited to be supporting and encouraging them on the way. 🍪 ---------- On an exciting note....*Watch this space for new Biscuiteer membership opportunities to come* Calum's vibrant energy and people-centric approach have left a lasting impact on Brand Biscuit. While we'll miss him at 18 Candlewick Lane, his departure sparks ideas on how creatives can still access our experience. Stay tuned to our socials and website for future opportunities to be part of our constellation of Biscuiteers, whether you're physically in the Studio or not. • An organisation that does so much for arts and culture in our city faced the challenge of conveying the breadth and impact of their work. The rebrand was a positive journey of discovery, collaboration, and storytelling—helping to define their purpose, amplify their voice, and visually represent their incredible contribution to Plymouth. We are proud to see the impact this work is already having, empowering the team to connect with their audiences more effectively and continue championing the arts in our vibrant city. The new brand and website is now live! Head on over and have a gander. Big thanks to Biscuitters Pete Clayton Elena Ruiz Ballestero Kays James and Miles Noble from Altitude who we partnered with for the website build. Watch out for a full case study soon! #brandidentity #plymouth #creativecollaboration

  • Pictures say 1000 words they say, well there is some truth in that. While it takes a certain level of focus to process auditory information and text, our minds are wired to respond to pictures almost instantaneously: 65% of people are visual learners. The brain can identify and process images seen for as little as 13 milliseconds. Colored visuals increase people’s willingness to read a piece of content by 80%. When people hear information, they’ll typically remember just 10% of that information three days later. But if a relevant image is paired with that same information, retention jumps to 65%! Scribing events or key meetings not only engages people on the day, it’s a fun way to learn and remember key facts and conversations. Transfrorming boring note taking to creative art. Dave Smith one of our Biscuiteer’s will be at the Devon Business Show if you want to see scribing in action and find out more. Join us 17th October Stand 55 Who’s going to be there? Hi folks... did you know that a large part of what I have been blessed to do over the course of my career as an illustrator has been character based work for brands and campaigns? I would say this kind of work has been easily about 80% of the illustrative commissions I have gotten over the years.
